  • Leicester and Oxford

The only thing that can save Leicester now is a huge points deduction for us. Leicester can now only get 48 points and the 21st team already has 49 points. That means if we werent under potential sanction they would be relegated today. But we have 52 points. If we were punished by 4 or more points, then Leicester might mathematically still have a chance. But nobody seems to think it will be more than 3 points. So I think Leicester are done.
Oxford can still get 50 points so we are still potentially at risk there if we get docked three points. Our goal differences would need to swing by 6 points for Oxford to catch us if we only get docked two points.
I am defintely not as nervous as I was a few weeks ago.

Calgary, I’m with you. We should be safe but until the decision on what points are deducted I’m not 100% sure. We need to keep the momentum up.

It’s a log drive back home tonight, won’t see my bed until 1pm ish and have an important matter to deal with work wise at 10 in the morning. Hope I stay awake.

Worth it though to see that win tonight.

    Sleep well Baggies.

We should be safe but I do not trust the EFL. If we are deducted two or three points, it is likely that it will have no impact on the relegation places, which, in effect, means that the penalty is pointless (pardon the pun); this is where I really distrust the EFL, do they want their disciplinary procedure to be seen to be ineffectual? I don’t think that WBA deserve any penalty but I wouldn’t be surprised if they docked us six, in order to be ‘seen’ to be fair to Leicester; completely unjustified, of course, but this is the EFL we are talking about.

From what I've read, Leicester breached the PSR rules by around ?19 million hence their 6 point deduction. Speculation around our breach-if indeed there was one-is that it could be as low as ?2 million so a big difference between the two.

Various commentators are saying we could get a 3 point deduction but that may be reduced to 2 points with mitigating circumstances taken into account. Unfortunately we won't know until we know so we need to keep up the momentum and pick up as many points from our last games.

I find it shocking that no announcement has been made by the EFL to either confirm or deny what was reported over a week ago. It's angering a lot of fans not knowing where they stand including Leicester and Oxford.
I expect more F*** the EFL chants until the end of the season and they deserve every one.

Easiest option for these w ankers! When we are safe by about 5 points ( hopefully ) then do the dirty deed then of deducting three points!
