Palmer plays second fiddle in the Ipswich side so no doubt will be on the bench tomorrow. I would certainly welcome him back for the pittance we sold him for as O?Leary better than Griffiths but still no Alex!

    Any other thoughts?

Agree totally. I don?t think we wanted to sell AP anyway. Just a business need due to PSR pressures.

Talking of PSR.......... I'd be surprised if we could afford Alex now. Transfer fee, signing on fee, wages across a four or so year contract it would likely take to tempt him back to the Albion.

Turning thirty in August also means his next deal is likely to be the most lucrative of his career, unless he does a Scott Carson and signs for a Manchester City/United type club in the twilight of his career that is.

The obvious counter argument being can we afford not to sign him? The obvious counter to that argument being there will be younger, better keepers out there we could potentially make an actual profit on in future. The trick being in the finding.

Looking at the relative positions of the 2 clubs, he would want to stay where he is

West Bromwich Albion or Ipswich Town? Who in their right mind would choose Ipswich over the Baggies?

Money talks, as does potentially being at a club in the top division.
