Excellent performance from all the players and while we were the better team for most of the game and a win would have been brilliant, securing a point from this was the most important thing.

Nice to see Furlong congratulating some of his former team mates on our confirmed survival too.

Indeed Al and he showed some nice touches when he came on for us in our previous game too. Think we will see much more of him next season.

Well we did it played great for an hour , then we got leggy & they were the best team for half hour but we hung on in there a great last few games , just makes you wonder what if earlier in the season under Morrison ? I know there?s one game left but going in to next season our priority is a goalkeeper we ain?t got one & a 20 goal a season forward if Swansea & other teams can find one we can ? Windsss at Wrexham plays full back & as scored as many as our forwards , great support again & the noise coming of our old famous ground 5 from the end brought a tears to my eyes ,

I agree Johnny totally. We really need a great striker and it?s not any of the three we have. Heggebo works hard but another Kanu and poor feet.

Played well though and we just about edged it. Imray again - what a player and Phillips and Campbell solid.

We need to be ruthless with out of contract players and sign quality.

A good day out, I’ve not been in the Smethwick for years! I was getting nervous in the last 15 minutes but credit to all the players today, showed a determination not to lose that. Diakite was excellent, too!

It was good in the Smethwick today, we even heard the Bham rd singing a few songs from far away

I thought that Diakite was Man ot the Match. His first half display was outstanding but did appear to be a little less influential as the game wore on.

I think all the players were excellent yesterday in terms of their battling performance and intent. Over all, we looked the better team although the subs Ipswich made second half saw them come into the game much more and they probably had the better of us in the last 30 mins of the match when we began to look leggy.

That said, Morrison hasn't had any great depth of squad to select from and injuries have compounded this so a lot of these players have played a lot of football. With the favoured (and more successful) 4-4-2 formation, he has rotated Dike and Maja but basically stuck with the same players in other positions.

Morrison has talked in the past about using players he can "trust" and a lot throughout his tenure about "togetherness" and the plus side is that mostly playing the same team has engendered that and they have grown to increasingly work well together as well as understand their individual roles and the expectations on them. The downside is that the Championship is a tough league with games coming quite quickly on top of each other at times so some "leggy" performances (like Blackburn) can only be expected.

With safety now ensured, I'm sure that they will all want to go for it in the last game of the season away against the Owls though.
