  • Derek McInnes

Hearts beat Hibs today with their winner coming in the last five minutes. Hearts need to avoid defeat v Rangers next weekend and the title could be theirs,

Just shows what a great manager can do on peanuts compared to Rangers and Celtic.

Whilst I would love Derek at West Brom there?s more chance now of winning the Lottery,

    Pleased for him though!

I so hope Hearts win that league, it would be a great achievement for Derek McInnes, another Baggies legend!

Brilliant win 2-1 over Rangers so the title is near! Who says you need money with a quality manager and carefully recruited players! Well done Derek! Wish we had him!

All credit to Derek McInnes and well done, he is doing wonders. Scottish football however, is a very different animal to the English Premiership or even the English Championship. I think even Celtic, Rangers or Aberdeen would struggle in the Championship. I’d question why Derek has not tried to ply his trade in England.

It is so easy to highlight managers or clubs doing well, Harrogate were and I recall people saying why don’t we implement their way, their style, take their manager and they are now relegated to non league football.

We, as supporters, fan, need to keep our feet on the ground and understand the dynamics and business of football. Scottish football is a totally different aspect in comparison to the English leagues.

I’d love to see Derek McInnes prove himself in English football, perhaps he is comfortable where he is. Don’t blame him to be fair, if he came in and was not immediately successful, well it could be disastrous to his CV.

Can?t see McInness accepting a job any lower than the Premier - why would he? Whilst I am not a fan of Scottish football I do disagree with your point that the top five let?s say would struggle in a poor championship. Yes perhaps in the Premier but certainly not Championship as a few of these teams hold their own on the European stage.

The most impressive point about McInnes is taking that Hearts team to the brink of the title with peanuts compared to the top two. It can be done without money as look at clubs like Hull and Millwall who are not huge spenders. Will Jimmy do the same next season?

McInnes has managed in the EFL, wasn’t Bristol City his last job?

You are correct Kettering 2011 to 2013. I had forgotten about that part of his career. It is a funny old game. Aberdeen let him go first time around and then reappoint him years later. He has done well in Scotland though.

He was sacked by Bristol City after a run of seven consecutive losses according to Wikki.
