A joy to watch Lloyd and a terrific player. For me though Laurie was my favourite because his skill was simple unbelievable.Originally posted by soulman101 View Posthttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd8yAghKJ3s

Have watched him play but never lucky enough to have met him personally. From the books I have read about him, and the interviews I've seen, he did come across as a genuinely nice guy. What isn't in doubt was his ability as a player.
That group of players from the late 70s including, of course, Cyrille, Laurie and Brendon as well as Willie, Bomber, John Wile and a young Bryan Robson were a joy to watch and we should have ended up higher than third for that 78/79 season. Whenever I think I'm maybe remembering things through rose-tinted glasses, watching clips of those games on YouTube soon puts that notion to bed. Good days, great players.

Two really genuine managers Omeg and had chats with both were Hodgson and Megson. Both lovely guys.
