  • Gordon Brown

Dear Dear - this complete idiot is back. So not only has Starmer appointed a ***** but now a complete incompetent Charlie as his finance envoy.

"Gordon Brown sold 395 tonnes of our gold reserves at the bottom of the market, and - stupidly - told the market in advance.
"Gold has since risen 1500% and the gold he sold would be worth ?40bn more today."

You couldn?t make it up! I am sure he will work well with Rachel from Accounts 😭😭😭

I think Brown was left "holding The baby" a bit after Blair resigned and the 2008 financial crisis wasn't of his making but the choices he made to help deal with it certainly hurt many. In some respects he has "elder statesman" experience and ability but he will forever be remembered for the controversial decision to sell our gold reserves over 1999-2002 and the debacle of Northern Rock. Starmer certainly needs help but calling in Brown, who oversaw a period of economic hardship as PM and might be blamed for contributing towards some of that, doesn't seem the brightest of ideas!😁

As mentioned to-date I have never voted and personally after enjoying many years working in Spain, I would never have voted for Brexit. Many Europeans were previously purchasing goods from the UK as it was cheaper and no red tape with border control. In many cases now with import duties it?s no longer cost effective to purchase the goods from the UK and the hassle with customs duties and goods being impounded and inspected is no longer viable.

As a purchasing CIPS professional it was obvious to me a better deal could be struck with sheer weighted purchasing power of a bloc than purchasing solo.

            A lot has happened.

A once thriving football site. Can we get back to that. Political sites are available, move to them if you want to have a rant about what ever polical nonsense you love or dislike. Stop destroying what we once had, a football site for dedicated Baggies. This is a footymad site, not a political site for one to rant about their dislike of where they live.

If you don’t like it here, emigrate, lots do. Join them and shut the #uck up because you bore the s hit out of most. Just saying as many see it.

Good night and sleep tight wherever you may be.

I once raised the question about just having it football only and was told - if you don?t like a subject then just skip it which is easy. Non football topics especially political get a lot of engagement. If it was just football only like the other forum it would be a bore fest which is why posters have gone on there and never posted again.

I am not in to guitars or cricket so do not post. It?s that easy to skip the thread.

Almost impossible to emigrate now because of Brexit. Ah - there?s another potential thread 😭
