  • Skubala - Lincoln

Like CC came from the Leeds set up - thrashed us last pre season at Lincoln and walked the league with a fantastic squad. I did say a few times he would be our man and even now would take him over Morrison.

Just left Lincoln and gone to Bristol City! Bristol City will now be one to watch this coming season as already they seem ambitious. As always said the manager has huge influence over the team and tactics and it?s NOT just about money!

I like what he did at Lincoln. Although he was low possession, direct football and a set piece merchant (sound familiar?) which only works in certain situations.

I do think he may have made a blunder moving from Lincoln to Bristol City. He had to do it as he isnt from a football background so the money he earns from this deal will be too good to turn down. But Bristol have been a bit of a nothing club for years.

We will see how it goes. I wouldnt take him over Morrison.

Surprised by his move! Let?s see where both clubs finish up! That said - judging by our humiliating position in the league this season - I would certainly not call Bristol a no nothing club!

I think one could make a prediction based on the obvious. Lincoln City walked League One and then their coach leave for, a bigger club, a bigger salary but he has left a club he got promoted so there is no love for that club because he has left.

It will be interesting to see how Skubala fares and who ends up where regarding Bristol City and Lincoln City. What I can say without any doubt is this, there is no loyalty in football, it is all about the money.

I would imagine Bristol City would end up higher than Lincoln City no matter Skubala was. Lincoln would always struggle in the Championship, however I would be pleased if they proved me wrong.

They have only achieved play offs once in 11 years. Thats what I mean about a nothing club.

They are a bit like Stoke: manager after manager not able to progress them. In my mind that is usually systemic rather than a load of failed managers. Hence why I think Skubala is making a step forward but not a big one.

I feel sorry for Lincoln, had a great season, won promotion and then get a kick in the teeth with the manager walking out for money. I remember the disappointment when we lost Ardiles after promotion; it’s the time when one might expect a manager to stay with the club that they have just brought up a level. However, as is often said, very little loyalty in the game. I hope Lincoln manage to stay in the Championship and wouldn’t it be ironic if Bristol City ended up in League One?
