Seems like Stoke are interested in Griffiths! Can?t see why he would go there to sit on the bench!

No rumours yet of any marquee signings coming in but Patel does needs to get his money out. That league table position did not lie!

We need players coming in and not more going out like Price, Campbell and Mikey!

PS - f uck the useless s hit from the Vile too on loan!

Don’t we usually wait until the last couple of days before the transfer window closes, then see what’s still available?

      Im torn on Griffiths.

Part of me thinks there is a great goalie in there that just needs time and patience. I also watched every game last season and I dont think he was dreadful. He made a blunder at Charlton but not too many others. He is 24 which is really young for a goalie.

Then I also understand he was statistically the worst goalie in the league last season. He kept us in a couple of games but only a couple. MOL gave us much more confidence.

If we got a million and a half, I would be tempted to cash in, otherwise I would keep.

I am with you on this one Matt. I have always been a fan of Griffiths but have to admit that he has not quite made the progress that I expected. You summed it up well by saying that he was not awful but probably could have done a little better. Overall, I would be tempted to keep him.

Not a big fan but he?s grown on me. Possibly being harsh because I compare him to Palmer who was a different class. As you say - if the offer was 1.5/2 then I would take it. We do need back up though.

Did O?Leary definitely agree to his new contract?

Statistics can be used to prove anything; without examining the details, maybe Griffiths’ stats are skewed by the time he was in goal under the management of Mason and Ramsay? The defence, such as it was, didn’t seem to know what they were doing under those two, Ramsay especially.

I actually do agree with this. Mark Twain wrote that there are three forms of lies: lies, damned lies and statistics.

We are seeing this play out now politically on the right wing.

I do think that statistics can explain what you are seeing though. I dont think he was the worst in the division but I do think he was in the lower quartile and not as steady as we got from Palmer or MOL

Matt, what has politics to do with our goalkeeper choice?

If one does not agree with anything then it?s right wing😭😭😭. We could do with a decent right winger though in our team this season 😭

Just a point about data, nothing more 🫣

I always thought that Josh had the makings of a good keeper-I still do-but, as Leics says, he hasn't progressed as I would have hoped and he certainly went through a patch where he seemed to lack confidence. Difficult to accurately tell because the performance of the back 4 will impact on the GK and vice-versa.

Anyhow, I can understand if Griffiths feels he needs a move to get on but would be sad to lose him and if he did go then we would need an appropriate replacement of course.

To his credit he?s hugely improved but for me O?Leary edges it. Personally I feel both keepers are adequate but our strikers are not! Maja will for sure break down again and Heggebo is not good enough. As you have said we desperately need a pacey creative midfielder and a right winger too.

Hi Al, hope you are good yourself. If we can't manage to secure Imray's services next season you can add a decent RB to that list -and a proven goal scorer wouldn't go amiss either 😀

Tbh, it's a tall order to fulfil all our wishes and with little to no revenue from sales, I really cannot see us splashing the cash as we might hope in the coming transfer window. I've a feeling we will likely rely on existing players to try and plug gaps (if Grant agrees new terms he will likely be used on the left wing and Mikey on the right for example) and Morrison has already hinted that our young players will have to be up to the challenge of called upon.
