Depends which camp you are in Boingy. Tbh I'm in the unsure camp. I don't think that he has performed consistently over the last two seasons. Very talented on his day but still goes into hiding too often for me.

Prefer him to stay rather than leave.

Too slow and like Molumby lacks talent and creativity. The midfield is our biggest weakness without any question of a doubt.

Hollyer needs to play as he?s a very talented kid! Diakite also is better than Mowatt and Molumby!

His stats have been the highest for the team over the last two seasons. So I cant really argue with it. Price will take that spot Im sure this season but Mowatt as the WBA site says has been consistent.

Consistently slow! The most static and un creative midfield seen for many seasons. Not fit either of them to lace Pereira?s boots,

If he is part of the squad and not on major wages, I think this is good for us.

We need experience and leadership to compliment younger talent. I agree with some of the comments though, he is a player with limitations.

We have 8 contracts up next summer and the club wont want to replace them all with players that cost us money. He would be one of the ones we should be keeping.

Good point Matt - it?s all about the financials and contract length every time. The two highest earners are Wallace and Dike and it makes no sense to keep either of them. I would certainly be trying to tie Price down to an improved contract who for me is a more valuable asset than Fellows. A fabulous player!

Good news as far as I am concerned. Certainly agree that we could (and need to) improve on both him and Molumby in midfield but Mowatt has experience and generally solid. With no incoming yet, we need him and going forward he is a good squad player. A year's extension seems the right call at this time.

                    I’m ambivalent about him.
Often nondescript and missing, but then steps up to score!
My decision would be based on the financial implications - wages vs perceived necessary replacement / any potential transfer income.

You think so? I see Mowatt as a holding midfielder and Price as an attacking midfielder. I wouldn't play Price in front of the back 4, I think we lose his attacking qualities if we do that.

You got me wrong 123. I meant that Price will take the highest stats spot. Not position. He is as you say an attacking midfielder, and very good at it.

Stats do not necessarily show a player is a game changer or a Price type of player who is exceptional. I am sure the stats for Grant are decent as he runs around a lot but often does f uck all with the final ball.

Stats don?t always show a defender who is ball watching ie Furlong yet again with the Swansea?s second goal.

Stats don?t show everything but they tell you a lot. For example Price rightly so was applauded against Wrexham and his stats showed that. Incidentally he was applauded for having 33 touches in the match. Furlong had 80. If you are a game changer the stats will reflect that. The stats are all about involvement and how you affect the game. For example Furlong was 7.6 v Blackburn often is in the 7?s which is good. When he got sent off went down to 6.8.

Yes stats tell you a lot but your eyes tell you more. Stats would not necessarily have shown Furlong beaten for pace 2/3 times v Blackburn and the fact he was lucky to stay on the pitch minutes before the harsh yellow for a clumsy challenge. Stats would not have reflected that Furlong was day dreaming for Swansea?s second goal. Conceding silly goals could cost us 3 points regardless whether a player has run around like a greyhound. Grant?s stats will be decent but really - what does he do?

The moral of the story is we have a packer in our warehouse who is a great chap and faster than the rest. Sadly he makes mistakes costing us money and won?t listen so he may have to go!
