Likewise why would I go on to talk about British Sikhs being peaceful on the whole and fought gallantly with our Army if I thought he was a Muslim. That would be obvious to a kid and I simply made a typo otherwise I would have said the same bit about Muslims!

Again OB - no time for stirring the pot!! Matt has different views to some who have posted but that?s his views and respected!

Let us face it Al, it would be hAndy to make racist and homophobic statement about another poster and on here and not provide an apology but I know you would not perhaps know how that works.

You make statements and then try to worm away from them because you fail to understand what you are penning due to your impulsive appetite to be noticed.

I have apologised on here if I have overstepped the mark on the odd occasion. You cross the line or fail to clarify what you mean due to perhaps a lack of understanding about much of what you write.

Perhaps rather than read just a headline you might read the whole article and have an understanding of what it is about rather than blunder in with your unwise opinion.

I see Farage and the right have quickly weaponised this tragic incident. Further proof that Nige isn't fit for the office of PM. As ever, before enough facts were known too many jump to conclusions that fit their mind sets.

What is now clear is that 1) the responding officers took the word of Henry's killer at face value and believed him when he said that Henry had racially assaulted him hence the handcuffing 2) that the responding officers made only a cursory attempt to check if Henry had indeed been stabbed (the wound, however, was subsequently found to have caused massive internal bleeding but comparatively little external bleeding so that the stabbing was not obvious) 3) that his killer did not use the ceremonial kirpan rather but rather another, longer bladed, dagger 4) that Vickrum Digwa had been known amongst the local Sikh community as a problem and had been banned from his temple 5) that members of his family had been complicit in trying to cover up his crime and removing evidence.

Whilst Vickrum Digwa is guilty of murder and of trying to cover up that murder through "playing the race card", what I haven't read anywhere in the media is why Henry Nowak was found in the front driveway of the Digwa house and any details about how the confrontation came about in the first place. Knowing this won't, of course, alter how the officers treated Henry or the fact that Virkhum Digwa murdered him but is surely pertinent to the circumstances of the case?

Clearly, Digwa does not represent the Sikh community -the vast majority of whom are equally horrified by his actions-and the moot point of Henry's tragic death is around claims of "two tier policing". The term is widely used these days by those who claim that ethnic minorities are treated better by the police and legal system than their "white British" counterparts. The irony-which I'm sure Matt would point out-is that, if any sections of society in this country have been at the wrong end of any "two tier" policing in this country over many decades it is those with black or brown faces. The Met, in particular, is still dealing with systemic racism and misogyny within its ranks and is working to address that.

Ultimately, initiatives within the police forces to tackle racism may make some officers overly cautious in their approach but -as the highly publicised cases with the Pakistani grooming gangs highlighted-this cannot then allow them to ignore the evidence before them.

Vickrum Digwa deliberately played the race card and claimed to the officers that he had been racially assaulted by Henry Nowak. On the balance of probability, however, would an officer be likely to believe that a Sikh man was racially abused by a white man? Is it much different than, on the balance of probability, that an officer would be likely to believe a young woman if she claimed she had been attacked by a man? IMHO, Robert Jenrick is either being deliberately disingenuous with his comments about "treating everyone the same" or else he hasn't thought things through.

The main concern in this whole case is surely over how the responding officers dealt with Henry and, in particular the facts that they did not properly investigate his claims of being stabbed and that they hand-cuffed him when he was clearly in a very weakened state and posed no threat. The coroner's report states that, having been stabbed some 5 times, Henry could not have been saved at this point but the officers did not know this and should have treated Henry far differently. So much of the rest-as Nowak's own family are aware-is just noise by those wanting to hijack this tragedy for their own agendas.

It?s tragic Omeg and yes people like Tommy Robinson make the situation worse. Novak called out he had been stabbed and this should have been enough not to have handcuffed a kid with three officers present.

Whichever way you look at it crime and the use of knives are getting worse in this country and the judicial system is becoming a laughing stock. Possession of knives should carry a prison sentence full stop including religious knives. Personally I don?t see much difference between a gun and a knife because a couple of lunges with a knife can mean certain death. Starmer does not help himself because he?s slow to react and get why many blame him. Nothing has been done about knife crime or grooming gangs and rapes committed by illegals. As I have said before it?s not easy to educate say an Afghanistan who sees a girl as an easy target when in some countries girls are treated like dirt and s ex is expected from the age of 12. Personally I hope Starmer stays in power because things will get worse under Burnham. Burnham is one who wants to eradicate asylum hotels and disperse these people into HMO?s and into local communities. This would cause outrage for many reasons plus tax payers costs increasing.

For me ( not going Left 😭 ) - I am starting to become selfish like many and starting to not give a t oss what happens as long as my own town and streets stay safe. I am sure this will be the case because even first time buyers can?t get on the ladder. Many of the good people of Crowborough did not have many views previously but now there?s outrage with some refusing to pay their council tax!

I do feel for the Sikh and Jewish communities because there?s less trouble than anywhere yet they get targeted unfairly. I had to check I had put the word Sikhs then before my content was scanned and a response forthcoming 😭😭

Did you really just post "I hope Starmer stays in power" Al? 😂😂😂

Tbh, I really like a lot of what Burnham says and he certainly possesses better leadership skills but I also worry that he may be too left leaning. For me, the single biggest issue in this country is the ever growing divide between the have and have nots where so many work hard but see no reward for their efforts in terms of improving their life styles. Much of this is due to policies brought in under years of Tory government.

I get really pi ssed when some business leaders blame lack of job opportunities on the cost to them of a minimum wage as they come across as the bad face of capitalism, those who are well off enough themselves but don't give a toss about their employees who they are happy to exploit through zero hour contracts and poor terms and conditions in order to boost their own profits.

But it is also abundantly clear that we need business growth to enable economic growth and opportunities and the government need to give far more help to smaller businesses in particular in this regard. Start taxing the big concerns like Amazon properly and giving tax breaks to smaller ones. I worry that the more left wing elements of the Labour Party won't get the balance right and fail to help smaller businesses across a range of sectors. Without healthy businesses in the country, everyone suffers.

Burnham will definitely be more left leaning and very much for himself. Would not surprise me if a deal has been done already with Mahmood. Dispersing illegals into HMO?s will cause outrage especially in the nice leafy areas. People don?t care until the point it happens on their doorstep.

You are spot on about growth and some of the graduates I see - I would not employ them with nose piercings etc. It?s so wrong with those in great careers after graduating paying 9% interest on their debt which in effect covers those who don?t reach the salary threshold on nonsense degrees. Medical Students should also have their debt cleared when they get their first position within the NHS. I thought we were desperate for doctors.

Welfare payments need to be slashed as in too many instances it?s financially better to claim than work. I know someone claiming benefits who pays for Botox FFS. The honey needs to stop for illegals too so they should not receive a penny other than humane aid.

I was brought up on there?s no such thing as a free lunch but clearly that?s not the case. There may be the odd free lunch ? overseas ? though depending on where one travels and you just have to Sikh out those destinations 😭😭
