  • England v New Zealand (football) 6 june 2026

Strange that England played New Zealand at both Football and Cricket on the same day.
Both on poor pitches I'm told.
I watched the majority of the footie match and it was strange watching 2 different England sides play, one each half.
I'm not familiar with a number of the new players so hard to know what our best starting line up will be.
Hopefully other teams we play will be more open so that a football match breaks out.
One more friendly to play, the day before Mexico kick off the competition.
I'm not in a sweepstake this time around so I'm randomly picking Mexico

I have zero interest in the England football team, unless I require a cure for insomnia. The cricket wasn’t great, terrible pitch, but surely test players should have done better. Sadly, cricket now has commentators that are as bad as those in football, especially the women, they just never shut up and some of their comments are mind blowing in their stupidity; one female cricket ‘commentator’ said that Joe Root’s bat saved him from being given out LBW, unbelievable, someone should tell her that the bat is meant to be used to hit the ball. Cricket now, for me, has to be watched with the sound turned off, same as football.

Spent the whole day on Saturday looking up at the clouds and trying to be optimistic about the weather. Couldn't understand why they decided to take lunch when the sun was out. Its not as if the players needed feeding as they had done nothing all morning. But, fair play to Lords they are giving me a full refund for the day.

Not following the Greed League, I can't summon up too much enthusiasm for England or the World Cup but I have little to no interest in cricket whatsoever. Even so, this comment by Ketts made me chuckle as well 😂
