Sadly they seemed to have lined up a couple of excellent players and can see them walking the league.

No excuse for Patel this season though - he does need to get his money out and at least show some intent. As usual nothing on the horizon regarding new signings on whether Grant and Maja?s agents have touted better desks elsewhere.

The three that came down will be strong along with the usual ones ie Saints and Middlesbrough. A much stronger championship this coming this season in my opinion.

We are going nowhere- we are what Peace said a mid table championship club ....................at best

Don't think there is the money , the ambition nor the vision to create a team to compete

WE are watching at best managed decline- so sad but so true

Lai left us in financial mess , our new owner has saved the club he is restricted by the rules .
I know I'm always optimistic ,but I beleave we turned the corner .
Hull won promotion whilst under a transfer embargo , we will be a different team under Jimmy .
At least the playoffs for me COYB

We aren't Blues with a lot of money behind us so honestly don't expect very much in the way of splashing the cash over the summer (not least because so many left as their contracts had run down so we have no sale profits from them). Nevertheless, I agree with a lot of what you say Soulman.

This club came dangerously close to disappearing and whilst the new ownership has made some costly blunders in terms of their management recruitment last season, Patel will always be remembered for saving us from the disastrous Lai years. Whilst I think that those who hope he will get the cheque book out will be disappointed, I do believe that lessons have been learnt and that we may indeed be turning the corner. Without the funds there cant be a major rebuild so progress will be slower than we would all like but I too have some faith in Morrison. It will undoubtedly be a tougher league next season given those who have come down but if promotion itself is exceptionally unlikely, those extra two play off positions remain something I believe we can still realistically aim for.

Remember though Hull spent nothing! A lot is about quality signings that do not cost a lot and managerial excellence,

In life someone must carry the can. Take Starmer he?s very quick to condemn the riots which he should but still not listening to the majority over unwanted dangerous illegals within communities. Back to football - sadly Morrison will carry the can like Big Dave - get it right he will be a hero but if we are crap then it won?t be Patel who will get it - it will be Morrison.

                Harsh? That?s life!

There is much sense in what you write Omeg. I see things much the same. We are starting from a very low position with an owner who is passionate, albeit he has perhaps shown some naivety in coach recruitment. He did save us from the previous ownership which led us to dire circumstances. However, in footballing terms, Mr Patel is not the richest.

I don’t mind that, I am most content that he saved the club from almost certain ruin and that he is keen to steer us back to what we were at least.

We need to be realistic. You don’t support a club because it is successful, real supporters support because they love it, they feel a part of it, that support carries on through the good as well as the bad times. Empty seats near the end of last season and those that said they would not go to games because we were failing, show the depth of their support. Supporters who love their club go all the time. We travel a good distance to attend home games and often further to attend away games. It is not a hardship, it is a passion for the club.

Al is right when he says Hull were promoted on a budget. It does happen, but one swallow does not make a summer. Yes we could get promoted but the truth is, that is most unlikely. I am looking for a season of consolidation, rebuilding and getting it right for the future.

As supporters, fans or followers, however you follow the Baggies we all really need to manage our expectations.
