Looked offside to me so VAR need to prove it!!

Was Swiss penalty offside in build up?
    Gary Neville speaking on ITV:
"We all think it sitting here, and everyone will at home, the goal is offside. FIFA are the host, they've got the evidence of the automated decision - why are they not showing us?
"They did this at the last tournament. Fans are already distrusting. There is a massive question mark of that [decision] because that is offside until they prove me different.
"It's like a dictatorship in the idea that they hold this evidence and don't show it for fans. It's ridiculous. Prove to us it's offside. Where's the transparency?"

It looked like offside from the start but arms on both the attacker and defender were outstreched so not 100% sure but seeing some VAR lines would have helped.

Surely VAR should disclose this immediately otherwise there will be mistrust. If they made the correction decision then prove it!

Looked off side to me too so odd that there was no transparency over the VAR. Despite the Swiss pretty much dominating the game, Qatar got or back so maybe a bit of karma?

Another interesting one for VAR was in the USA v Paraguay game where the ref stopped the game to review his decision to give a yellow to the US defender for bringing down the attacker. VAR clearly showed that he did not touch him and the ref reversed the yellow card for the defender and instead gave a yellow to the Paraguayan for diving. Most agree that this was the right thing to do although "technically" the rules only allow referees to transfer cardings if there is a case of mistaken identity over who committed the offence. They do not allow this to happen for different offences (in this case a foul on a player or diving). Can't see Paraguay appealing somehow as they lost 1-4 and it wouldn't change the result but it would seem sensible to alter the rules to technically allow referees to do this if VAR is going to be used in such circumstances. I can't see many being opposed to trying to stamp out diving. VAR in itself won't always negate the need for judgement calls however as there will always be cases like the above where defenders do touch the attacking player and the ref will then have to decide whether they think that was enough to cause the player to fall or whether there was a deliberate dive.

The other incident I saw that seemed weird was in the Brazil v morocco match where the ball was kicked up the field and went out of play and the throw in was taken almost immediately but around 30 yards from where it went out. Seemed so obviously wrong.
