Loyalty in life Lloyd is a precious thing. I expect him to leave and best wishes to him if he does.

I thought I had read earlier that it looked like we had managed to retain Matt Gill so just checked News Now site and whilst a few media are reporting our interest in Strachan, the E&S is also saying that Morrison still remains "hopeful" that Gill will elect to stay on for next season and hints that talk about Strachan is about boosting the backroom staff as much as being a replacement for Gill. Guess we're entering that time of year for speculation and rumour so will just have to wait and see.

Also noted a piece on TM who talks about his appointment at Blackburn as well as his last stint with ourselves. He clearly still has affection for Albion and while he does not say so explicitly, I think it is pretty obvious that he felt his last spell with us was marred by too much interference from above and and the insistence on a particular game model. Not that most of us, I'm sure, would not have guessed this to be the case!

AI and data are all very useful tools but the bottom line is that players are still human beings and so people skills remain as important in football management as they are for those who manage people in any sector/field.

Totally agree about people management Omeg as individuals go the extra mile for a good boss but the opposite can be said of a micro manager. Look at Carrick for example and the Hull and Millwall managers plus Derek at Hearts.

Like the start of the Morrison tenure looking at quality young players! The aim for this season must be play offs and that?s not expecting too much!

Shoulder sloping exercise from Tony Mowbray to deflect the blame for the utter shambles of his return in my opinion Omeg. I don't think anyone told him to abandon all semblance of team shape and structures and if they were trying to interfere with his selections based on stats Tom Fellows would have had more game time and John Swift would have had less.

I'm not going to suggest all was well behind the scenes but we shouldn't have re appointed him in the first place. It was clearly far too soon after his all clear. A lazy populist appointment for the romantics which ended with all the fun of a wet fart in a deep sea diving suit. He bit more off than he could chew and I don't mean chocolate because we were largely s hit under him.

By the way, it's fair to say the Russell Martin appointment at Leicester hasn't met with universal approval. They ought to do well with the players they have at their disposal but nothing's a given and if he gets off to a ropey start and talks his usual pre and post match b@ll@x the knives will be out and it won't be long before he follows.
