The comments were disgusting but the point in question is the two tier justice system. How that Labour councillor got away without a prison sentence for calling for those protesting to have their throats slit was far worse. Absolutely shocking in fact. Meanwhile girls are being assaulted from illegals who have entered the country and again the sentences are laughable.

She admitted writing those comments. Her sentence was not an attack on the freedom of speech, it was based on her comments and hatred of another people. She invited people to attack property housing people and she was rightfully found guilty.

There are other ways to vent your anger other than encourage people to commit acts that has the potential to cause harm or death to others.

I don?t think Begum was treated harshly but hey that?s my opinion. She decided to lay her hat with a barbaric bunch of murderers like Hamas.

Bit like peoples views on illegals in hotels. As I do charity work for the homeless many of which are genuinely homeless because of sad circumstances my view is - all those who are homeless including veterans in our country should be put up in hotels too with three meals a day and laundry washed. Many are elderly and not mainly under 30 single males!!!

Agreed-but given the similarities of the comments made by Connolly and Jones-all be they from opposite ends of the political spectrum-it is understandable that some are questioning the consistency in the application of the law (e.g. 1986 Public Order Act). That said, it was juries who decided the outcomes not any "politically motivated" judges and so the whole "2 tier Britain/Starmer" stuff seems just red top click bait by the more right wing press (who continue to peddle the line even as they report on the several arrests of pro-Palestinian protesters).

Certainly no great fan of Starmer, but to my mind Bad Enoch and Farage would be far worse.

They would be dealt with as a terrorist, not have paid interviews and be made out to be a martyr upon release.
