  • Throw-ins

In the absence of the Furlong launch, I hope we will work on the training ground to achieve more decisive play.
Calum seems to struggle to find an Albion shirt, with little positive running from colleagues. Inevitably, a lob produces a 50/50 ball after a too long wait.
    Is it just me ?

I thought this thread was going to be about how most of them are foul throw ins, for the most part....

Campbell took a long throw today. He could work on it. Most Americans were raised on mainly hand sports till soccer took off.

There were certainly a couple in today’s match !

Essentially Db buddy, I’m angry at the number of times we lose possession directly from OUR throw-in

This always used to annoy me. Unless you are under the cosh and need to throw it upfield as far as possible for some reason, just throw it to a player who is in plenty of space and keep possession.

Haven't seen todays game but I hope that the full match replay becomes available.

Whilst we missed Furlongs launch we didn?t miss him going asleep and being outpaced as he was against Pompey. As numerous supporters have said on social media for once the defence looked solid. Even Stoke fans have said our defence held firm. The only player who gives the ball away too much is Styles and we definitely need a replacement for Fellows. Very happy with today more so with the attitude and work ethic

My comments were more concerned with our throw-ins generally. (Not specifically related to the long throw) We seem to give the ball away too often directly from the throw-in. Certainly far more times than the opposition.

A reflection of a poor throw delivery or an absence of willing runners to create the opportunities.
