Yes. I was sitting on the benches at the front of the old Halfords Lane stand. He would go on long charges into the penalty area and then miss the shot and I think we were all thinking ?he?s definitely exciting but he needs to improve his finishing?. Then we were awarded a penalty and Bomber let Cyrille take it, which he did and scored, and we all thought ?good for him?. Then he went on another long charge and scored again and we were all thinking ?hmm, maybe he can finish too?.
The real test came on his league debut a few days later against Middlesbrough which had a notoriously stingy defence. He promptly ran right through their defence from about half way and scored a stunner. The rest, as they say, is history.

Oh I guess Bomber wasn?t playing and that?s why Cyrille took the penalty. Also, I believe Cyrille was the player who was fouled for the penalty when they could not cope with him on another charge he went on.

What actually was his cause of death Soulman? I never did hear the cause of death, which is fair enough.

Big Cyrille was out neighbour in Handsworth until I was around 3 years old. Such a great guy, my dad loved talking to him.

Found this tribute to him here:

I also love how happy he looks every single time he scores a goal! What we could do with a striker like him (plus a few of his teammates from that era too!)
