Agreed. Not only has the squad been improved (particularly defensively) but our PSR situation is much better.

The only thing I had hoped for was a purchased decent replacement for Tom Fellows ( though I'm still sad to have seen him go despite the monetary benefits of his sale). Hopefully Illing Junior can fill that void, either by playing as a right winger himself or on the left with Mikey on the right, but the problem with loan players, of course, is that if they prove to be good, you only have to replace them for the following season. Still, some good business all the same.

Absolutely great business and now play offs should be the aim and bet Nestor saying the same

Agree with the above a very good window , the only niggle was we didn?t get a more reliable striker, love the 2 big lads we have but it seems to me it's only a matter of time till they break down again , then we're left short again ,

Can anybody explain to me why it is that some transfer fees are "Undisclosed" while others are not?
          Always puzzled by that.

Like most of us I would have liked in another keeper.

The defence looks immeasurably stronger with quality cover in every position.

Question of whether the midfield is stronger depends on how well Collyer does. I'm hopeful.

I do have concerns about the attack. Heggebo has been tremendous with his hold up play but will he score enough goals? Twice already had he pulled the trigger earlier he would probably have scored. I don't think he's a natural goalscorer! That leaves us with the 2 crocks. Maja shown can score regularly but can he stay fit? Fellows is a big miss can the Villa man fill his boots?

My prediction (with fingers crossed for Griffiths) is top 6 and we'll be singing 'We only need one goal' as per the Megson promotion season.

So yes we have 'Good business'

As said elsewhere, it is great to have such positive comments following a transfer window.
Totally unexpected, particularly given our reported financial restraints. Certainly given a tremendous fillip to the supporters.

Great business getting rid of most of the deadwood and overrated players that bottled it year in year out, new players a total upgrade, hopefully the same next summer when we can ship out Wallace, Dike, Grant, Wildsmith and probably Maja, we?ll probably sell Price to finance the upgrades, Patel , Nestor and co really seem to know what they are doing, great times ahead

Do agree with you. Hope Heggebo is not another Robson Kanu who was similar and held the ball up well but couldn?t score. I have said the same Heggebo needs to have one touch in front of goal then bang! My only doubt about him so a fully fit Maja would start for me. It?s goals that get you out of that division.

Ive personally gone completely off the big need for a striker Omeg, Years ago it was important to have a 20 plus goals a season striker but if he gets injured and all hopes were pinned on him youre scuppered. These days everyone barring the keeper is expected to contribute. Wingers, midfield and striker should be providing the most but we can also count on centre backs especially on corners. It makes more sense. One injury then doesnt destroy your season.

Come to the same conclusion some time back. We have always been let down by our out and out strikers that have been bought over the years. A few exceptions of course, in particular...Phillips, Taylor et al.
But most recently they all have been duds....the list is endless. Currently Dike fits that bill of another non performing striker.
So spread the goals among the whole team...including the keeper....it is the in thing nowadays...

Personally I'd love a 20+ goal striker. Agreed it's not the only way but it gives the fans the best sort of hero a goal scoring hero. Something we haven't had for a while.

I am concerned about the lack of front players. Right now we only have 5 players Wallace, Price, Heggebo, Johnston and Illing Junior to fill 4 attacking places. Of the 4 to come in there are injury concerns both short term and ongoing about all of them.

Just read 15 months ago there were 11 players in the squad over 30 now there is only Wallace, Mowatt and on loan Taylor. Great job in a short time.
