  • Todays Problem

Starting Wallace - my ho my! The guy is a total waste of space! Heggebo never a goal scorer as too slow on the ball. No creativity with Mowatt and Molumby playing together.

Needs to start Collyer - Junior and Maja against Boro. If Maja gets knackered it?s simple - bring him off but one chance he will score.

Mason - you missed a great opportunity today and your selection was wrong! No urgency or creativity!

Spot on, nothing changes, far too slow, tippy tappy football, no urgency, Heggebo looks another Brown Ideye, lack of goals again the side, maybe we should look at a forward for Port Vale who has scored 2 in 2 games😉

Derby defended brilliantly but didn’t deserve to draw let alone win. Collyer looks rubbish to me. Like a twelve year old in a man’s kit. Lots of bouncing around doing nothing. We did more than enough to win the game, what was it 18 shots to 4? Derby started time wasting in the first half. A real smash and grab for them. I dont think it’s time to be complaining really. Just one of those games.

Only ourselves to blame and lessons need to be learnt. The main one is that we need to get going from kick off with more urgency and both create more chances and be a lot sharper at converting them when we do. Mikey sounded like he caused problems today but Iling Junior needs to now start before Wallace as does Maja before -or at least alongside-Heggebo.

There were positives from today but dominating possession in itself doesn't mean anything. Let's see if lessons can be learnt in time for Friday.

Starting Wallace was a poor poor managerial decision. You?re never going to win games with a poor keeper and no goal scorer.

Griffiths made at least three poor distributions today and again Palmer most likely would have done better with their goal!

Heggebo - works hard and holds the ball up well but poor first touch and not a natural goal scorer!

            All valid points.
We didn’t deserve to lose and overall the team played ok, apart from the slow attacking movement out from the back. Reminiscent of the dreadful nonchalance evident last season. We played as though we were 1 up and it took their, not unexpected, goal for us to step up a gear and be more direct.
Mikey needs to release the ball more quickly - particularly when team players are waiting for the cross. He threatens, but the final pass let him down.
I was also surprised to see Wallace start and an absence of Diakite.
Disappointed with the result and frustrated with the overall pace.
Early days and I expect Mason will react…let’s see what the starting line up is at Middlesbrough.

Off to Boro Prando and we should 100% start Junior instead of Wallace. I would also start Diakite and Maja. Maja just needs one chance and he will score and if tiring then bring on Heggebo.

I like Styles but he gives the ball away too much and Campbell had a poor game today. Worry about Griffiths because his distribution today was poor and in my opinion Palmer would have most likely saved that goal.

No such thing as hard lucks in football as Derby outsmarted us yet again and that?s down to managerial experience

The better team lost and that will happen from time to time. Especially given itÂ’s our bogey team and our bogey manager.

Wallace is not the problem and he has played well so far this season however he is limited. I expect Iling-Junior will replace him but he has only just got here. Mason seems keen to have midfielders structured and that takes a bit of time.

I wouldnt make a lot of changes for Borough and think we will get more space against them. Id like to see Collyer and Iling-Junior get some minutes. We need more goals from midfield as Heggebo is not that sort of striker.

On a positive note, Mepham is a rolls royce of a centre half.

I thought Collyer was decent when he came on and Junior has pace that Wallace doesn?t possess. We need to be defensively strong v Boro and will only get a few chances so need to be quick going forward.

Boro have the best midfield 4 in the league in Brittain, Targett, Morris and Hackney, who is the best player in the league.

I would take a point there all day.

Me too Matt and having pinched a point today the crowd will be right up for it. I think we will get beat and probably will as going 😂

I was at game yesterday so haven't kept up to date with the site until this afternoon.
No match day thread which I think is normally started by Soulman, so hope he's ok.

Opinions in football are amazing because I don't agree with that Al. But isn't that the point of why we're here on this forum.

I thought Wallace played quite well as was unlucky not to score with the one that went past the post, he was also unlucky not to get an assist for Price's chance very early on in the game. He worked hard and was a goal threat.

I thought the subs made us look weaker, maybe they need time to settle in. Illing Junior looked very raw to me.

I thought overall we were very unlucky to lose. But when I look back on the first 5 games of the season, it actually gives me a lot of optimism. With a bit of luck on Saturday and the right ref decisions v Portsmouth we could have won all 5. We have been the better side in all the games from my money.

So lets see where this season takes us. I'm also very impressed with Mason so far.

One of the biggest problems for me was the match officials operating a clear and obvious bias in the judging of the on pitch all in wrestling match between Matt Clarke and Aune Heggebo. It was one rule for the Derby player and another rule for ours. Pathetic examples of officiating in what was always going to be a tight and niggly game.
