Talking about disrespect what about the comments made by Boingy to another poster regarding ? drugs?, that was a very distasteful and disrespectful comment, just because posters don?t always agree with Boingy doesn?t mean to say they are being disrespectful, I think the comment made by Boingy should be deleted and we all move on to which forum we choose to post from, there?s no need for any negativity

Post wherever you want to post but don't feel it?s necessary to slag off one site or individuals.

There?s friendships on this site been made over many many years which means more than a poster who pops up a few times a year.

I love the match predictions and the intelligent debates from Omeg even if I don?t agree with everything tplus the videos from Phil and clips from Soulman. I get what Soulman is going through probably more than most due to my own health.

I agree there?s no need for comments regarding this site or posters, I wish the other site well and hope it is a success however some posters on the other site who seem to resent this site and some of its posters should maybe stick to their own side of the fence including the Prediction League

I'm not hypocritical enough to disrespect members of another forum for having negative thoughts about a forum which has the reflexes and response times of a brick wall. As in this one.

What I will say is that I am tech savvy enough to have read some of the comments on the other message board about this one and some of the posters on here. C'est la vie 😎 .

Al, not sure why you can't address me personally or directly over this. I stand by what I said "Goodbye FootyMad and this site is terrible" the sentiment of it is pretty much what majority have voiced concerns about, nothing I said was out of context or over the top. I wanted to set a forum up last year, for the very same reason. Then few months ago revisited the idea of creating a new site, because posters here got more frustrated over it. I didn't over react with my 'headline'. I even stated weeks before that I'd be launching the site - so no real surprise from me. I'm unsure of what point you're trying to make Al or the angle you've taken. Me saying the site is terrible is purely down to it's performance, slowness, crashing, ads, punctuations, poor user interface.. I could go on. Saying it's terrible was nothing about anybody or what people post or the quality of their posts etc. Far from it. All I wanted to do was help fellow baggies another alternative that actually works, that's all. Quite a few people asked for it. I don't see how we'd lose much by using the new site as you can pretty much do the same things on there and more. The prediction league etc, I was offering help to set up but understand if there isn't the will to move across. That's fine. I expect the new site to be doing really well and surpass this site in terms of users. There are quite a few posters on there that have signed up that have hardly posted on this one in ages, 55 included. We just need 123 there. Anyway the new site once gone through with the settings plus a few changes to make here and there etc, I'll be promoting it to other fellow baggies and that's when we'll see it take off. Aim is to get as many diverse opinions/posters on there, but keep it civil at the same time. Also, I by no means will want full control and will want others to step in for this, as I just want it to belong to the fans.

I do not see how that is disrespectful, it is, in my humble experience, a comment made to illustrate the difference on what he and others saw.

The issue is, in reality, whether one is truly offended by the remark or is trying to curry favour by indicating they are offended by it.

I haven't accessed the new site Regis set up so cannot possibly comment on any contents posted on there but would personally interpret his description of this one as "terrible" as being a reference to the poor performance of the site itself (difficulty of access, slowness of response etc) rather than being aimed at any individuals on here.

I wish Regis and any of those who have elected to sign up for the new site all the very best but I'm at heart a creature of habit (as well as not being very tech savvy 😁!) so am happy to remain here for the time being at least. I didn't like the previous brief bout of toxicity we had on here because I see it as being un-necessarily hurtful but (aside from the frustrating technical performance issues of course!) I enjoy this one, which is mainly because of the regular posters who use it. I genuinely hope they continue to do so.

As for Boingy's drugs comment, Iike OB, I myself would not have taken it too personally but can still understand how others might have been offended by it or taken it that way as being aimed at them specifically. At the end of the day though, however clumsily or thoughtlessly expressed, it was a disagreement over how different people viewed our performance in a game of football. All of us can get a bit emotional or frustrated by the performance of our team and individual players (let alone by various political issues!) so it's just about trying to be more mindful of what we post. As Al has said several times, it would be pretty boring if we all agreed on everything but we just need to be respectful of one another.

I am like you Omeg, a creature of habit and not tech savvy, so I will remain on this site. Again, I agree with you regarding the fact that the main complaints refer to the site and not the personalities who post on it.

For me, i am glad there is an alternative site. I have not however joined it yet but i wish it all the very best and would not rule out joining at a time in the future. I will visit it to glean the views of other Baggies, as i did with this site for a number of years, albeit when i did sign up i was not exactly made welcome. (That is however another matter).

We have all said this site is sometimes difficult to access. Many have indicated the wish to have an alternative way of keeping in touch if the site goes down. Regis? site in my opinion does exactly that.

Good luck with it Regis and I see no reason why both cannot go hand in hand. The new site has attracted a few new names to be fair.

As with all smart phones I have loads of apps taking up storage on my phone which I don't use (such as Facebook etc) to improve it's functionality. There are any number of reasons for why I don't want any more apps other than strictly necessary.

Storage space and security are amongst them. Another being when I deleted the NHS app along with a plethora of other apps which were required for pubs and restaurants etc post Covid my phone slowed to the pace of a p iss ed up slug which meant I had to get a new one. For reference I haven't even got TicketsOnTheGo on this phone. My season ticket is in printed format.

None of us know exactly what information we download from apps or what information those apps feed back to whomever about us. For that reason I am surprised to see Phild on the new site and would be gobsmacked if he downloaded the app. I know I wouldn't have to download the app to post on the new site but I also know a number of it's features would be lost on me if I didn't.

I am not a conspiracy theorist and most definitely do not wear tin foil hats. As much as anything they're not remotely flattering. On the other hand I am no stranger to tech. Crikey I can even use email and the text message function ( 😃 ) but stop short of activating WhatsApp for a number of reasons listed above. If you're reading this Phild I am not labelling you a conspiracy theorist but I know how much you value security and your right to choose.

It didn't matter how respectful I was or how many times I pointed out that I was joking in certain instances he continued to take the huff over phuck all because I voiced different opinions when I felt it required. That was all. There was no witch hunt and I sincerely hope he has found peace, tranquility and happiness in the new playground.

But that's the thing with playgrounds. They come with swings and roundabouts or in the case of forums differing opinions. I honestly think some people feel a little uncomfortable or even threatened by differing points of view and simply refuse to take them on board. I had no idea 55 (Des) was on the new site. Wish him well from me please. He's a bloody good man and a brilliant poster. I just hope a certain former poster can appreciate the depth and variety of his opinions though because Des has them in abundance.

No worries Regis. At the same time whilst we both know the non tech savvy don't have to download the app to use the site we also both know they won't have access to it's full functionality without it.

Two tier policing, two tier access, two tier foruming. A combined slippery slope which will surely lead the Lizard People straight to your phones so they can bum you to death before feeding on your still warm and twitching corpses.
