  • Russia Threatening Finland

    That?s in the news now and Putin won?t stop.

    Whether some like Trump or not - one thing is he?s far from stupid;

    Mocked the Tool Makers Son on the one out and a thousand plus in and reference to the military stepping in. Oh the thought with human rights here plus lawyers making an absolute fortune from it.

    Trump was 100% right about the only way to stop Putin is for NATO countries to stop buying Russian oil. Still - Hungary - Slovakia - Turkey and countries like France all still feeding the Putin killing machine. You couldn?t make it up 😂😂

    At least Trump stopped that p rick Khan from tucking into the nosh and Charlie?s best red 😂😂😂

    Thought it was three MIGs entering Estonian airspace over the Gulf of Finland rather than Finland itself but little difference as it is Putin pushing to see how far he can go. The so called Coalition of the Willing need to do far more than spouting rhetoric now and whilst I am in total agreement with you Al that no NATO country should be continuing to purchase Russian oil, I don't believe that even ramped up sanctions alone will stop him. Economic support from fellow BRICs countries may not fully make up for withdrawn Western trade but it will be enough to allow Putin to continue his war. Sadly, even if these NATO countries do the right thing and finally stop purchasing oil from Russia, the moot point for me will still be whether Trump will decide to actually stand by his European NATO allies or stick with making excuses for his bestie Vlad.

    As for Trump's ideas on protecting our borders with military patrols that is easy to say. Blow a couple of boats laden with illegal immigrants out of the water and keep doing it would, I am sure, soon put them off even trying and, in the process, also stop this particular source of income for the criminal gangs involved.

    Such a plan of action may be very effective at curbing the "boat people", but it isn't likely to play well with most people either at home or abroad. Killing them, either by shooting at them or allowing them to drown by destroying their boats (rescuing them from the sea would defeat the objective) wont be a good look. Whilst there may indeed be some young men involved in criminal activity amongst them, the majority will simply be exploited individuals fleeing dangerous situations and seeking to make a better life for themselves. There is no easy solution. If there were I'm sure that even Boris, Sunak or the Son of a Toolmaker would have implemented it.
