    Hi Bomber,

I have looked at the other site and am unable to find the post you refer too. Did he actually call out poster on here by name. I can see he made reference to a couple of posters he?d prefer to remain on this site without actually naming them. It would be helpful if you point me in the right direction, re which thread Boingy wrote and you refer too.

My initial point was talking about people who are not here to defend themselves and I am fully aware of the post with the “drug remark” you refer too. However, I think it was taken more out of context rather than it being offensive. I considered that Boingy meant that someone must have been on LSD or another hallucinogenic drug, rather than having to take medication for an illness.

I find it difficult to understand why someone with an upbeat look at life, one who finds positives where the majority find negatives, can be put down for their views.

As you pointed out in your first sentence, “everyone is entitled to their own opinion,” unfortunately that has not been the case historically on this site, there is no denying that.

Actually I have a positive outlook on life as do many others on here, the post you are referring to was the one where the poster didn?t have the courage to name names but we all know who he meant, the post was uncalled for and unnecessary, just move on to the new site and be happy
A lot of posters on here spend an absolute fortune following the Baggies home and away and see first hand the problems and have a right to express their views without being lambasted, the Bournemouth game last season was a prime example, the comments made by Boingy just because he didn?t agree with other posters comments was vile, if you take the time to go back there have been other examples, nobody on this site is perfect, but everyone is entitled to their opinions whether people agree or not, that?s what this board is all about, opinions, if people strongly disagree and can?t reply without lambasting others then they should either ignore the posts or venture onto another site, I have nothing personal against anyone on this forum I enjoy the differences of opinion, however if I am called out then I?ll defend myself, why you have got personally involved in this I don?t know as far as I?m concerned the matter was closed, Boingy is now on another forum and I hope he enjoys it,
      End of conversation on this

Thanks Bomber, your response though is quite humerus.

        1) Line 2 - you say ?He did not have the courage to name names.? So an assumption was made. I have had discussions with Boingy, one where he called me out over a footballer who had taken a case out against a club for unfair dismissal. I won?t name the poster who he supported bit they were so sure of the facts they were most offensive towards me. I let them dig a hole for themselves and then hit them with the proof. (Incidentally that?s part of my working strategy, whereby, I need to prove what I say is in fact, fact.

        2) Line 4 - I spend a small fortune on four season tickets for me and my family and we do attend some away games also. We pay extra to attend hospitality as we enjoy the pre match experience at the Hawthorns. Many away games are too far to travel to as we reside in an area close to the south coast but we do make the effort if time allows.

        3) Line 11 - you say ?why you have got personally involved in this I don?t know.? That made me chuckle as I could put that question to you, as initially my post was aimed at Al.

I simply do not like stabbing people in the back when they are not in a position to defend themselves.

The thing is with you OB and there?s been no trouble on this board apart from an awful comment from Blood who apologised but it?s you who wants to engage in trouble. I didn?t rise to it yesterday. Everyone loved Mick ( I am in touch daily ) but it was your disgusting and personal comments on the Huw Edwards thread which he deleted being the MOD and left.

Danny is a fab guy and goes to every match but hey perhaps you missed his comments strategically! Look up the thread late last week but here?s a transcript.

That wasn't sarcasm, it was humour. Boingy has clearly nicked your login details. In which case he can fk off too 😎.

You could do the decent thing now and go across to the other board so Bomber returns who does a lot of work on match predictions.

Sad really after this board has been really good as confirmed by Omeg you have to try and poke to cause trouble yet again!

I'm a little flummoxed by posters feeling the need to defend themselves when to the best of my knowledge they haven't come under attack. Well not physically at least but I suppose there's always time 😊 .

At worst it can get a bit verbal but personally speaking I've never felt particularly threatened by words on a screen. Disagreements centre on posters having a different opinion or point of view garnered from what they've read and interpreted.

For me the term self defense relates to something entirely different to what is generally found on a football forum which is more generally associated with middle age/older adults of a fashion. Maybe posters feeling a need to defend themselves is a little out of context 😃?

Sometimes people just don't handle the fact others don't always agree with them all the time very well. For instance. I often found myself in agreement with a certain poster currently over the garden fence.

I didn't agree with everything though and would offer my own interpretation of events and statistical analysis. It did not matter one iota how respectful I was though as it was deemed as me having a go.

Also I think it’s fair to say it is a little awkward to play nicely or otherwise with other older adults of a fashion when they've decided to play in a nice shiny new playground. It's not like said poster(s) were chased away by big bad Internet bullies.

They've chosen to play elsewhere having taken their collective ball with them. And that's fine. I wish them and the new playground all of the very best and as far as I'm concerned they're more than welcome to play on the rusty slow moving swings and roundabouts in the old one whenever they want 😎.

On Balance. For reference Al is relaying a tongue in cheek response from me to Matt who felt I was being sarcastic when I was just trying to have a laugh. I felt this was very apparent. He apparently did not.

I tried again but have no idea what he felt about being told to fk off along with Boingy in the event the apparently humour free Boingy had stolen his login details. That too was meant to be a joke as well Matt. Honestly 😃.

Yeah picking up tone and context can be a bit tricky at times but cant we just tell each other to fk off and move on?

Totally agree Matt. Don?t always agree with you and vice versa but you know your football and good at debating.

Danny ( 68 ) can f uck off too as he got to Boro too late and needs to answer his phone 😭

Mason is not the answer- said it from day 1 - slow build up , players out of position .

I don't think he has the nous or the courage to go for wins -

The championship is so different from the premier league and that is all he knows..
Let's see what the next team selection is but I don't think he is brave enough to go for a win

Personally, I think it is too early to write Mason off yet but am in complete agreement that we move the ball far too slowly going forward and that changes need to be made to the starting XI. Leicester will be another hard game but would like to see Taylor at LB to allow Styles to play in midfield, Maja in alongside Heggabo and, at the very least, Mikey ahead of Wallace. That way we should at least provide more of an attacking threat and greater energy. As you say, we shall see

Hang on a second. Before he stepped in the building you said he was 100% going to fail. Then we win a few and you say you were wrong and he is the answer. Now we lose away to top of the league and he is not the answer again….

We all predicted a mid table finish and we are 7th.

He deserves criticism for last match, but not that much. Of the two goals we conceded one was an individual defensive error and the other a brilliant goal. Nothing he did, setup-wise caused those goals.

Did we attack well enough, no. Could it have been a bit more attacking, yes. But dont forget Boro hadnt even conceded a goal at home and if Price scores his header it’s a draw. The margins are that fine.

baggiematt is absolutely right to criticise my flip flopping over Mason . So need to come to a conclusion .
Mason is NOT the man - the early wins will be seen as false dawns.
His premier league only experience is a drawback as the premiership style does not work in the championship.
Add to that he selects players out of position, allows slow from the back build up and imho does not have the courage to go for wins but seems to have 1-0 mindset- 1 goal isn't enough and attack is the best form of defence .
So after baggiematt justified criticism of my flip-flopping I am sticking with my view Mason is not the man , no play offs ,bottom of top half . If this is acceptable in terms of a longer term project that's one thing but let's temper our ambition accordingly

For me I won?t judge Mason until about 12 games in. I will add though - starting Wallace, Molumby and Mowatt won?t work and it?s not going forwards. I would like to see Collyer start and Gilchrist given an opportunity. Junior will provide pace on the wing which Jed does not have.

Will he make changes? I don?t feel he will apart from bring back Mikey due knowing he got it wrong at Boro!

Lose to Leicester without changes patience will start to erode. You can?t keep saying we had possession - we had chances - it was moments that dictated the game. This means jack s hit. Goals win games!

We of all teams should know that possession isn't everything. When we were in the Premiership and winning some games, how many of those did we have little over 20% possession in and still manage to snatch a win through a rare set piece? (if only we were as good at converting corners now &#128512

Mason has spoken earlier about getting the defence sorted first and to be fair, the acquisition of Phillips and Mepham has improved it and, defensively at least, Campbell is better than Furlong. Our problem remains-as many see it-our lack of goals and this is particularly hampered by over slow build ups in our attacking play and lack of creativity.

Like many, I believe that we do have players within the squad that can improve this but agree with you that Mason is over-cautious and whilst we may well see Mikey start on Fri, I would be (very pleasantly!) surprised if he actually played Taylor at LB to allow Styles to play in place of Mowatt or Molumby for example or at least started Maja alongside Heggabo. Collyer I can see making an appearance as a sub and possibly Iling Junior but I think a lot of the changes we would like to see will be slow in coming.

His selection on Friday will be interesting but if he doesn't make more of the changes many would like to see but we continue to lose or draw games that we should have got results from then, however "well" we played and regardless of possession and stats, patience will wear thin. My personal belief is that Mason, despite his inherent caution, will not allow us to get to this stage. Hope I am not proved wrong!
