Yet again the most successful team on the South Coast
I wondered how 8th would figure in the history of the Premier League should we finish there? I found out that we had already done that before (in 2003) and indeed finished in the top ten at least 3 times in Premier League history. During the Skates spell in the top flight, for all of their massive spending beyond their means, the best they managed was 9th and five of their 7 years they finished 13th, 16th, 17th, 14th and 20th - classic bedblocking. XD

I don't ever recall any Pompey fan celebrating coming 8th, or any of the other admirable positions you lot have reached.
Still, when you're desperate...

Despite whatever either of the two main clubs in Hampshire have achieved historically, personally it doesn't matter.
As a Saints fan I'm not interested in them, their history or anyone else's. Just want Saints to continue to grow in stature.

Tell you what Proc, that's some outstanding analysis for someone who has no interest in Pompey and never watches our games. I'll add you to the ever growing "gutted when we won the cup" group.
I'm surprised you had time to do all this analysis what with all that Sky TV you watch!! XD XD XD

I hope you're right, Pents, and it will still be sweeter than your 8th because we know it isn't the best we can hope for for the future.

Oh and you watch your games do you then? You've already admitted in the past that you don't go anymore because they're not worthy of you

Seen us play football in all 4 divisions and at Wembley (5 times), and that before the slide. I've done my time. Life changes, you find new hobbies, especially when you've satisfied all your ambitions with one of them...unlike you lot!!
At what point will you think, "yep, that's as good as it gets" with supporting Scum? 8th???
