Has there ever been a season with fewer contenders at Meadow Lane? It almost seems pointless giving it to someone, a bit like some of those joke MOM awards we’ve seen given out in recent months (was it the Kane Hemmings one that elicited laughter?).
Despite him only being here for three months, I’d give the award to Mitch Rose. But if it’s to someone who has played most of the games, I’d have to say Rob Milsom - despite his season only coming good when he switched to left back. To waive his contract renewal clause so he could play shows true commitment and he’s never stopped trying. A model pro (hypocrisy alert - I was calling him blind in the first half of the season when he was trudging around in midfield and was initially miffed when his contract was renewed until the end of the season).
The other big question: Who will win our ever-competitive manager of the season award?
