Draws away at the likes of Wrexham are good. Draws away at Weymouth are not good and will not get us out of this league. We’re clearly a work in progress, but we’re going nowhere if we keep conceding sloppy goals. Still don’t think we’ve found the right formation to get the best out of Cal and Ruben, or found the right combination in midfield.

What’s clear looking at the results - especially Stockport’s - is that we’re not the only ones finding our feet right now, but nothing less than six points will do from the next two home games.

Not the worst thing in the world an away draw and still unbeaten but we need to take advantage of all the chances we create. As I said on the IB thread, have we got the players at this to capitalise on IBs good work. We need to start putting these games to bed but all in all its going pretty well so far.

Certainly not writing anyone off, but 1 win in 4 against the opposition we’ve faced is disappointing. We’ve probably only played 1 team who’ll finish in the top half of the table.

I do think that this team will eventually ‘click’ but I hope it won’t be too long.

Just back in me hotel room - credit to the opposition today for me, I thought Weymouth were decent. Probably the best team we’ve played so far taking their performance in isolation.

We should’ve won still and their goal took a big deflection (I think, view was not ideal from the away end).

nw6, yes we need to start converting the games to full points. However at the very least it will be a more entertaining watch this season.

I get where you're coming from. I feel the same about Wootton to be honest! (Decent player and likeable chap, but misses too many chances for a team that needs to finish 1st IMO)

I actually rate the two players you mentioned, JoB because I think he's a good player, and DKE for his attitude and spirit, although I acknowledge his quality going forward might not be enough for the way IB wants to play.

The only point I would really disagree with you on is that this is similar to previous seasons. I think it's much more promising in that we create plenty of chances and set out to win games rather than not lose them, which I think was our downfall last two seasons.

JOB does best when brought on as a sub in the 2nd half

Our inability to hold onto a lead will be the failing of us if we’re not careful. We all want to see attacking football, and to kill a team off by getting a second goal, but you also need to keep it tight at the back after scoring. How many times do we concede shortly after working so hard to get the first goal. They say you’re always at your most vulnerable, defensively, when you score. We certainly are but it is something that can be addressed.

it’s only 5 games, it’s a solid start. Wrexham and Stockport not exactly flying out the traps with their big signings, personally I think we more than have enough goal threat wise, we’ve scored 11 in 5 games, hardly a disaster. 4 or 6 points in the next 2 means we are steadily going along, RandR not peaking yet and other players we signed should improve, I’m certainly not concerned at the moment.
