It's hard to read this without it being that you are thinking about a new manager:
'Just think about having someone around who knows this league, the teams, the players who could see something different to a CSV file and a maths channel!'
Perhaps you are referring to a D of F, but if so, it's hard to see how IB would stay if his way of playing was over-ruled.
IB is playing the way the owners want him to, that’s why he was given the job. I’d agree we are probably a couple of good signings short of being unbeatable in this league but at the moment we don’t have them.
The reason Rúben has raised so much interest is because of IB which means he’s proved he can improve a player. Rúben’s value will be over inflated come January which again means IB has done his job well should the owners decide to cash in. That said they might actually have a couple of league players in their crosshairs come January and might want to keep Rúben for the final push for promotion. Either way IB is here for the long term.
Interesting a DoF who is an expert at NL and has a recent NL promotion on his CV.
I suspect that will be tough to find if something the owners decided they needed.
Maybe a more experienced No2 is a more likely shout?
I thought Stall made a very interesting point about Boreham Stiff and how they have finished up 2nd in the league with crowds under 1,000. He said they were in an ideal position to pick up the players with London area clubs that can't quite make their squads but don't want to move out of London.
