The Pavis, Kop and JS stands are completely sold out, but 100 or so tickets are available in the Family Stand.[/QUOTE]
On the face of it this is true Elite. However, we have only sold the tickets that they have made available.
They do not sell tickets for the entire back row of the Pavis or the Kop (safety??) and have not made available the front 2 rows of the Kop either. Also other little pockets of seats are usually left empty. People may sit in some of those seats during the match but they are not made available when tickets go on sale.
So when people are trying to guess the crowd they should take that into account. Also TV cameras for this match are taking well over 100 seats.
As to why they do it?? Safety is probably the answer they would give but it is strange that extra groups of seats tend to pop up from time to time. Yesterday well over 200 seats suddenly "appeared" in the Family Stand and this maybe this would have required an extra steward. Perhaps someone on here has a better idea.
On an ongoing basis, if we want to grow the club and its' support, it is something that will have to be sorted. We can't go allocating nearly 25% of the seats to the opposition when some of that space could be made available to Notts' fans. If we play Mansfield in the playoff, I don't want to see this again. I do know there are particular issues for these opponents with fans having to have had a purchase history.
Do we want to give Wrexham, Bradford etc 25%. In my view it considerbly diminishes home advantage.
