Agree Whitbread hasn't done a lot wrong but as others have said, Bucko's distribution and in particular, his 30-40 yard passes can help keep on the pressure.

Whitbread should start because we just beat Blackburn away from home and he did nothing wrong. Wasn't his fault for either of the goals, he nearly stopped the second after having to come and cover for Eustace's missed header and Keogh giving Gestede too much space.

Buxton was fantastic last season and is a very good CB but he's not a world beater and it's not like our team would be severel

There is playing well vs not doing anything wrong.

If the manager changes the team due to a player becoming available, why is that an issue.

I take it if we are in a playoff spot and Eustace is doing nothing wrong at the time Thorne becomes available, Thorne waits until a suspension, injury or catastrophic loss of form before a recall. That is what happened last season - some say if Thorne had played as soon as available, we may have been closer to Burnley!!

I don't go with that.

I think if Thorne is demonstrating to the manager in training, and from what we know about his quality that he is the better player, he should play. To me, same applies to Whitbread / Buxton.

As I write this, I just saw the goals against on FLS. Whitbread missed back post header and put the Cardiff player under little pressure for the first goal. For the second, balls up with touchline clearance, messed up the second go (simila

Bucko's struggling with an injury so maybe should be rested to get fully fit, we will need him later on in the season. Whitbread isn't match sharp so criticism is a wee bit harsh, but at the moment I'd take Bucko if fit.

very very harsh and I have to disagree. I don't thnk jake's in the business of ever 'letting us down'. he's a warrior and give 100% every game. my take on it was that with burke reacting like the whistle hadn't been blown and was about to fly down our wing, for a split second he wasn't sure if a free kick had been given or not.
