You don't often get that with young players trying to break into the team.
A bit unfair. Beside all the things Freedman did wrong, he did give opportunities to plenty of young players. None of them made anywhere near as much of an impact as Clough though.Quote:

Fortunately, Clough has signed a contract extension and Vela has been offered a new deal I believe (not sure if he's signed a new contract though?) but what a dreadful judge of a manager Dougie really was, especially when he had 2 quality players right in front of his eyes, truly shocking!
if this lad proves himself enough and could do it in the premiership then he would be classed as the next Rooney
worth £30 million
Now that would take a small chunk off the clubs debts haha !
I'm loving the fact that we actually have a young player with potential although I don't see him as the saviour (financially) of our club. If he is as good as we hope, can't you see some Premiership team coming in for him next year and us selling him for say 1/2 million? (e.g. Cahill) He then goes on to be a quality Premiership player in the mould of Beardsley and fetches 20 million for his next transfer! It would almost be better for us, long term, for him to be a solid club player, who bags us 10 or so goals per season.
Do you get where I'm coming from?
Yes i hope we keep the lad but if we did sell him let's hope we get big money for him,i've just read he is a big City fan and he wants Balotelli's shirt after the Liverpool game!
Why NL took him off when he did tonight i will never know he was the only player that ever looked like scoring!
