Football league expansion to 5 divisions

The EFL say it would tackle congestion fixtures and Boose finances of its members XD that's about the Prem then

Can't see it being voted in. It would mean that in that season 7 teams would be relegated from the Championship the 3 to be replaced by the promoted 3 and 4 more to reduce the total to 20 and 8 teams relegated from league 1.
Huw many chairmen are going to vote for that?

Im in favour of prem B teams playing in the football league. First, I dont think they will be promoted up the leagues as easily as expected. Second, the system will develop more players for every level of the game so help all pro teams and stop drain of talent dropping out of the game from prem club academies.

I also assume that players wages won't be less for playing less games. Wages of support staff would be the same as many " behind the scenes" will be salaried.

In the lower leagues there will have to be more players on part time or pay per game contracts.

My initial thoughts is that this will be a disaster for most league clubs and will probably see the end of promotion to the Premiership because the two organisations will split.

Whose place are they going to take Walter?? Would you forego Rotherham's place for Sunderland B?
Portsmouth were in the premier league 6 years ago, it is not inconceivable that a club in today's PL will do the same, what would happen to their B team?

They really don't want us in the 2nd tier do they, just as we manage to finish 21st out of 24 again, they decide the division should only have 20 teams in it ffs :O

When it was originally mooted the idea was to expand the conference and bring them in at that level. In this context the idea is to expand the league. In either case I doubt anyone would drop out.

Second teams play in league structures in other sports. They cant be promoted to within 1 divisions of the first team and

That's not an argument for this proposal, its an argument for a different system for academy football. You cannot compare the English football league pyramid to other sports or other countries. The English football league has a unique history. The Championship attracts higher crowds than the top leagues in every country in the world except Spain and Germany. Last years conference play off final at Wembley was watched by 60,000 people. Last week's league 2 play off between Plymouth and Portsmouth was watched by over 30,000. There are simply no comparisons at any other sport or nation.
Parachuting B teams or even the Scottish teams will inevitably mean demotion for someone. Just because we are at a reasonably high level now, does not mean we will not be penalised by this in the future. I ask you again, are you happy for Rotherham to forego our position in a given league for one of these B teams, because somebody's club will!
