A good point but why would you sack a manager when you're 4th in the league? I do however think they'll review his position at the end of the season.

A surprising original post and some interesting responses.
We are definitely short staffed behind the scenes as the departures show. We know the owners are proactive and won?t rush things so not surprised they were perhaps caught about by Mongague?s exit. He?s been integral to Notts and football radar so not easy to replace, not to be rushed.
The coaches leaving, again unexpected but easier to replace especially in short term to help out. Whether Maynard?s lack of experience as a head coach means he doesn?t have the contacts an older experienced manager would have to find a quick replacement I don?t know.
I agree with KC and OP any ideas of sacking is silly but a review is essential and very likely.
Rudderless at present or not we are in the best hands we?ve been in for decades and they always have a plan. As mentioned they speak only when it?s needed not when demanded by some fans to squash speculation and rumours they read online. Much prefer too little than too much talk from the owners.
As for enthusiasm needing a lift. Over 1200 travelling to south west london for a 12:30 kick off that?s on TV. That?s enthusiasm levels as a Notts fan I?m not used to
I had considered this possibility but SM suggested in an interview (can?t find it) shortly after the unfortunate departures that they would be replaced. If the owners are not replacing them because they want to save money on terminating contracts in the event that SM is released, that would be denying help where help is needed now. Do we want promotion?
It is about 1 month since Montague left.
It is 2 months since the Saunders departed.
The one sure thing our owners do not do is 'knee jerk reactions' so I am not surprised that we haven't replaced Montague, as yet.
His position is key to the model that we have chosen so intensive research is necessary.
That same research has brought us our present CEO, and look at the advances we have made off the field.
I think it is showing that we do need an assistant coach/coaches, as SM cannot do it all on his own.
I know it's frustrating seeing us under perform, but when hasn't it?
I, personally, get very down for days when we don't win or perform. It is that important to me.
I talk about Notts with great pride at how we are being run and the progressive nature of our club.
The safety net is that we have great owners that must be the envy of many a club, and after 50 plus years following Notts, is a great comfort.
We are still in a great position to get promotion and we need to be behind the team during this blip.
I find some of the comments on here bemusing.
That montague is being cited as not having a high enough ratio of good signings, feels completely without reason.
Compared to whom? Where is this signing deity we are comparing him to?
Even in the most successful times in the past 50 or so years, it would be hard to beat the ratio of good to bad we now see.
For every Randall and Morias you have a jones, jatta, Crowley, and Rodrigues.
I actually can?t remember a time we got so many signings spot on.
We?re a league 2 club with a budget much smaller than all but a few of our rivals.
Yes, it?s been dire recently. Utterly dire. But in nearly all those games we?ve been a post or bar away from getting something or more whether deserved or not.
Let?s try and keep the perspective. I?d be very happy to continue the proportion of success/failure that Montague provided. COYP.
It's easy to appoint staff quickly. It takes a a bit more time to find the right staff. Take your time Notts.
I am kind of thinking/hoping that the lack of any rapid responses or appointments is down to them thinking they need to ensure they get the right people even if it does take more time than we would wish. Replacing RM with the wrong caliber person because we can do it quickly would not be good, same can be said for coaching staff. The downside of this is that it seems to be hamering this seasons chances of promotion but I think we need to trust the owners on this.
How long did it take them to replace (or rather take on his responsibility) Jason Turner? A few months but I think we can agree that Joe Palmer is doing a good job. Replacing people quickly isn't always the best option, we can't make signings and the recruitment team is still there. The owners are also able to make decisions when necessary, look at the replacement of Ardley with Burchnall because of circumstances, they acted quickly and accordingly. Don't think that we are rudderless because we aren't shouting from the roof tops, they do their business quietly and effectively so far, so why would this change?
We've had some poor performances, I fully suspect that Maynard is aware of his backing as well as his goals but the season isn't over yet, let's just keep calm and see what the future brings. The reorg might actually help as we can get people in who are better than Montague in the relevant tasks and we are in a much stronger position
it's not all 'choo choo! all aboard the bandwagon when 1200 Notts fans make the effort to physically support Notts is it?
You and Mapperly winding up the be patient with SM/Radar posters like you're glad you might have been right is disappointing really when we all have Notts' success at heart don't we - as long as it's not the prem pah!
SM's kept us in touching distance despite all his best players being mostly at home in bed. But most fans would agree that we've 'suddenly' become uber pants on matchday. It's clear one thing the bros have found a rough gem in SM, whether he's capable of getting polished enough quick enough for the bros stated ambitions ... looks debatable to me. We really have to pull something out of the hat against Grimsby to make me think SM's safe with the bros tbh.
