Yeah I can see why but my 2 takeaways were when asked does he think he?ll be here at the end of Jan, he said yes and he talked about the owners will sell ?when the time is right? gave the Crowley example of keeping him in the summer.
There?s a lot said about the process on here but it?s not all strictly true I.e we look for hidden gems and then look to sell. We didn?t sell Wooton and Ruben and we also paid market rate or above for Platt, Beadeu and Bass at this level as their would have been a few clubs after them as they were proven in L2.
We can?t lose Jatta at the moment and the owners know this, I?m 99% sure we will keep him.
Completely different scenarios.
If we were to sell Jatta then we?re looking at replacing the main striker.
Langstaffs replacement was already at the club so we were looking at a bracket of player that wouldn?t cost the earth and has to accept they?re a squad player.
Just seen what looks likeJatta in the Wrexham crowd, then again it could have been. Dion Dublin, specsavers in the morning perhaps.
I was thinking the same. I know it is a squad game but there are some positions where any prospective new player will want to know if they will be highly likely to be playing or be squad players. Keeper and main striker are possibly the two. In some cases it is the actual player though - Crowley I am pretty sure would have been almost assured he would go straight into the team at MKD - which he did.
It's the one position where we are short of cover so it would be silly to sell your main striker and top scorer if you are serious about promotion this season. It's ok bringing in some one else but there is no guarantee he would fit in. I remember Newcastle selling Andy Cole to Man.Utd.which backfired on them.
