I was thinking that the soaps wunt be up to date with the corona virus and episodes recorded weeks before but lo and behold on corrie toneet geoff was telling yasmeen to say happy birthday to you twice while washing her hands. It does make you wonder though if the soaps will need to stop for a while soon with social contacts being frowned upon.
Grand National been cancelled
Why don’t we all just be grounded for a month and just get it over with
The double bread winner economy Mike is why the schools haven't closed as yet in my opinion although I think it's inevitable they will very soon .
They could well remain closed until September and obviously someone has to look after them , who knows how many that takes out of the workforce , a few million I reckon .
Financial hardship kicks in and once the bills aren't getting paid you have a problem .
In my department at work alone amongst just 10 of us 7 have kids at school and both parents work full time and once they close for that period of time 4 of them haven't anybody to care for them .
Absolute catastrophe on our hands and we haven't even got started yet .
That is probably a very good idea millertop. Not ridiculously long as long as we are being fed and watered. The other idea suggested to me was for us all to be given a dose of it and get it done with. Maybe not so ridiculous as long as you didn't give it to vulnerable groups.
So basically everyone who was in good shape would stay at home and get the bug while vulnerable people would stay at home and be isolated from the bug. Hey presto!
If both parents are working. When the schools are closed grandparents, the very people who are at risk will be looking after those kids. Our government is playing a dangerous game trying to control the virus. Or is it a smart move?
This is going to kill off many businesses. Retail is already in poor shape. Holiday industry, pubs, restaurants will all take a huge hit.
