If you want my honest opinion about Hecky then I'll give you it .
His heart wasn't in it quite the same after the 2017 January window and he only stayed because of Patrick's health and didn't want to burden the guy with a huge problem when he had enough on his plate , terminally ill and trying to sell the club .
He got out the minute Patrick passed away with a clear conscience because he knew the club's policy was flawed and didn't meet his ambitions .
He's had a hand in our demise but nothing more than that .
He did right , it's his career and living , he made sure he was alright .
The same as Patrick did when he sold all our talent to put the club in profit and become attractive to new ownership .
When push comes to shove , our families and money come first and the club second .
The same as everybody else would do .
A chain of events , give Hecky a reasonable squad to work with and he'd do ok as he proved .
Theres some solid managers there, ave slung my weight behind Darrell Clarke. Started at Salisbury, think it were 3 promotions there, came to Brizzle rovers, took em down! Then back up and up again. Now established in lg1. For me he ticks the boxes, he stayed after relegation and took em up. Hes s fighter gets extra out of his players, tactically good and i think logically if the guys ambitious, we are ideally suited for the next stage in his development. He goin one way for me and thats up. Someone elsell gerrim.
I have no faith in the powers that be making a sensible appointment.
We'll have another Jose in place. Foreign, with connections to big clubs, but with no experience where it matters.
With the right managerial appointment, and sensible dealings in the transfer market we should be back in the championship this time next year.
We have some excellent league 1 players right now. None of them are players I would expect to be poached by 'big' clubs.
Sign an experienced leader at the back and a 20+ goals a season striker and we won't be far off.
Will it happen? I doubt it.
I also think league one success isn't particularly rocket science .
The same tactical games aren't quite as influential as they are at championship level .
One or two posters are over cooking the veg here , the dwarf thought he was smart with his over complications , he wasn't .
There's always room for a good rookie at this level with organisational skills who can comand respect within a squad , the group are supposedly the cream of the lower tier .
I'm reliably informed league one is light years away from the championship these days , both the relegated clubs from last season have secured automatic promotion and the millers are in the play offs by a good distance , go figure .
Some french dude will feck this right up , he won't get it and complicate the situation .
Various posters of this board collectively would have this club back in the championship this time next year with a £2m budget and we may not even need that .
Easiest gig Carrick will get , we'll work on the other stuff when he gets us back up , such as " give me a fecking budget you t@ssers I ain't a fecking magic man or I'll feck off "
Well Moore is our 20+ goal man, he scored 13 for Rotherham at the start of last season so he will be an asset for us in league 1. As for the Hc/manager/yes man well it depends how far it the owners pockets they want to go. We could get any decent manager or if they have zipped up there pockets it will be some random french guy from the french non league club.
McCall - no, Alexander - perhaps, Ferguson- never, Rosler -maybe, Redfearn - NO, Sheridan - perhaps.
Out of all of them Sheridan would be my choice.
I like to think the stage is now set for Mick, with a decent backing and set up he would almost be guaranteed to succeed in L1, so protects his concerns.
Two suggestions totally left field though Steve Bould, experienced coach might be looking? What about the guy in Sweden, can’t remember his name, but been very successful with small club and budget. Appreciate different standard but did alright for Hodgson.
Just hope that nanny goat hasn't got the final say on HC appointment but who does there's only cryne jnr who's English and is he up to date with football inside and outs anything could happen a good surprise appointment? who knows but it wants sorting ASAP to give him the time and chance for possible recruitment after he's taken stock of what he's got already
I think they had a shortlist done before the derby game. Be daft not to way we bin laikin.
Mind boggles who's on it.
