And there is the problem. Back the manager, don't play manager yourself. The man has been full of crap since day 1 and now he is paying the price. An omnishambles!

While Ardley is in no way to blame for the current shambles, I do have to question the team selection. Hewitt at RB (how bad must the Ox be?), Vaughan anywhere on the pitch, sticking with a back four that cannot defend crosses. Jones is simply done - we'd be better off starting Evina for a couple of games, but my guess is he'll be off in Jan and so NA wants to stick with those who will be around for the rest of the season.
Also, some of the decisions around set pieces made no sense yesterday. First, why is Hewitt taking corners and free kicks? This is a player who struggles to pass it ten yards and is notoriously bad at crossing. Wouldn't he be better off in the penalty area? Also, we had a free kick at 1-0 down about 20 yards from goal, to the right of the penalty area - perfect for Jones to have a go with his left. But instead, Hewitt attempted to cross it in, and the ball didn't beat the first man. Why not just have a shot at goal?
And finally, I don't really understand why Thomas was taken off. Like him or not, he's pretty much the only players we have with pace, and that's at least something when you're trying to take the game to the opposition. Dennis was never going to do anything yesterday - he's a defender's dream: no pace, can't win headers.
So having an opinion and saying a player should not be playing, written on a message board, is the reason why we are in this position? I thought the reason why we are in this position is because of the players that actually play in the matches.
I do not have a go at the players during the 90 mins. I support them all, even Hewitt, but my opinion being written on a message board does not have any effect on how these players play.
I agree that the subbing of Thomas was bizarre - he was our only threat going forwards. Our set-pieces were woeful again all game - we’re really missing Grant there this season. That free kick where Jones should have shot was identical to one last week against Tranmere. Same wasted opportunity, but it shows there’s a lack of confidence to have a go. Given that Thomas is (I think) the only one to score direct from a free kick this season, it’s odd that he wasn’t even an option to take it. Oh, and we repeatedly hit their first man with our corners, which is bloody annoying.
Well, to me, the team selection today said it all after the last game against Grimsby. To select 10 of the same players who started the last game was just asking for another defeat which we got and was well deserved. As soon as these players get shown the door, then the sooner things will pick up, but who will have these worthless bunch of W*****S?
That has been covered on many other posts. And the starting 11 depends on who is available, but no way would I have Jones, Vaughan and Hewitt in my squad, let alone start.
My point is that the majority of players from this squad who start, always start, and look at where that has got us. Last week was so bad that words can not describe it, but 10 of those players started today, and look at what happened. So would it be that bad to try a complete new line up? So what if we lose? we do that anyway. At least 11 different players might show some pride
I was hoping for eleven names, but obviously I'm not going to get it. I realise we have a lot of poor players who appear week in week out, but are the other options any better? I thought Kellett was probably our best midfielder today, and he was barely average. Incredibly, we have managed to assemble a big squad without one decent central midfielder.
