They want to build one near Abingdon

They don't benefit customers and help them save energy as they say, they're for the benefit of the utility companies so they can introduce peak charging and cut off your electricity when there's too much of a load on the grid.

But in the future the cheaper deals will only be available to customers with smart meters, because they've got targets to install them, so you will save money then.

There was also the issue of them stopping working when you change providers.

I think most people would prefer that utilities and railways where still in public hands. That's not why Corbyn was rejected.

It's "dynamic real-time pricing", you're constantly monitored with the price constantly changing, up to 48 times per day.

There's already some of these "time of use" tariffs available.

We had a smart meter fitted sometime in July. Do you think by next July I will have overpaid for my Gas/Electric bill compared with if I didn’t have a smart meter fitted?

I’m not arguing ivy the way, I just want to know whether to get rid of it!!
