    Ot water shortages

Why not put everyone on meters? My neighbours with 2 or3 cars, jet washing them on a daily basis, sprinklers on the lawn.
I have mentioned it to him , but with kids as well he said it was not worth it.
    Fair enough.
Mrs Crash is a bugger with washing machine, but our water bill is 22/month.
If everyone has a meter installed, it may make them adjust.

Or why not build an infrastructure that can deal with shortages?

Then again paying one price to spaff as much as you want down the drain

Erm, Cyprus had a shortage in 2008, they had to reduce domestic supply and ship emergency water supplies in from Greece.

Surprised grist isn't blaming the BBC for not forecasting enough rain!

There's been enough rain, but it's been too left wing

Cyprus gets its drinking water from reverse osmosis desalination systems.

It could build more but the environmentalists don’t like the environmental impact ( well those environmentalists that don’t live there)

What if people who pay through a meter don't mind spaffing as much as they want down the drain? My neighbour here has about a 0.5-0.75 acre of lawn and has no issue with paying around $1000/month at this time of year just to keep it green and mow it twice a week. I must be the only Yorkshireman in the neigbourhood as mine is a bright yellow/brown and doesn't need mowing at all It'll be green again as soon as the rains start.

Water it with a mixture of water and whisky.

It then comes up half cut

( note to self, buy better crackers)
