That was the second time Aberdeen were saved from relegation. I think another team (Motherwell?) might also have benefitted one season.

Aberdeen were due to play Falkirk in a play off but Falkirk’s ground did not meet the SPL requirements so Aberdeen remained in the SPL. Ground sharing for Falkirk had they won the play off was not on the table back then.
