Blackpool Post Match Thoughts

A typical Mick Mccarthy team - direct-physical and we had to match them - which we did.
Best time to play Blackpool with all the injuries and a suspension they have.
Some good performances from our lads all across the backline and in midfield.
My MotM - Cohen Bramall - best game so far for us.
Humphreys is quality - defending and bringing the ball out of defence - only saw him make the one misplaced pass.
A difficult game where Blackpool were very competitive.
Objective was not to lose - job done imo.

Don't think he’s a scapegoat in fact he’s probably had more patience than most.
Fans aren’t stupid lack of form yes understandable.
Lack of effort unforgivable.
More than one occasion yesterday he was coasting if he’s injured then rest him either way we are carrying him.
We will have to adapt the system if needed.
Hopefully next game he has a blinder and we who criticise look stupid.
For the record would love him to sign a new contract.

Some ironic comments from McCarthy

"We prepared (for a scrap) and I can't knock the lads for the response they gave me. It was a bit of a war of attrition. I fully expected it and it didn't disappoint me in terms of what it was.

I thought their starlet Josh Bowler back on loan from Forest was a modern day version of Ryan Williams. Lots of tippy tappy nonsense with no end product. Struggling to see a cship player in him let alone prem. What were Forest thinking of by signing him

We should have won it easily in the second half
Basil was unlucky not to score where there keeper made a wonder save
Bramhall hitting the post
Chieo hitting the bar in injury time when he had so much uncovered goal to aim for

Great to see Ronnie commentating from the away fans area. Always made time for selfies etc

I've read on here that he may have the " titty lip" on because he didn't move out in January.
Prior to January he was quoted as being happy to see his contract out.
I don't reckon he has the " titty lip" on or its a lack of effort. He looks to have lost at least half a yard of pace and is being marked by opposition players more closely. He got barged off the ball yesterday second half and no free kick given.
If he's off form perhaps put him on the bench against Reading and use him second half and play Shane Ferguson as the inverted winger that right hand side. Alternative options are there .
I too would like him still to be here next season.

Forest sent Josh Bowler straight out on loan to a Greek team.
He played for Blackpool previous to when Forest bought him.
Agree about the " Ryan Williams" remark and the end result.
Blackpool defended well - so did we.
A point towards survival.

Mick McCarthys teams only play one way.

I bet Cohen wished he hadn't moved the ball 6 inches to right of the referees mark. Left it where it was could have scored. Looks like freekick practice they post on socials other week is paying off.

Almost as good a left foot as Shane Ferguson. - ;D
Some of the tackles he put in and getting forward quite often may be the reason some have marked him down as MotM.
Fine margins - if Cohens shot had hit the inside of the post and gone in -
If Ratters shot hadn't been saved -
If Chieos shot had hit the underside of the bar and gone in -

I thought the millers fans were excellent - vocal throughout - and patient.
We could have lost that game on a different day - ( we didn't)

All we can ask for ATM in the championship is. We come off the pitch the better side.
Win loose or draw AVG say the more times we are the better side the more games we win..

Read one poster comment. We could have lost it at the end. In my eyes we could have won it at the end with chios shot. I guess it depend if your glass is half empty or full

If you carnt win then don’t lose. Didn’t see nothing of the game , I went to visit the crash site of a B29 that crashed bout an hours drive from here . Got a parking ticket for my troubles but had a good day with my lad and grandson.

If Chio is carrying an injury, give Kioso a go.
