Our midfield is slow and lacks talent and creativity ie Mowatt and JM. Take Bellingham at Sunderland who is 19 and consistently good and in my view a class above Mowatt and JM. Again a new coach or manager can?t put there what?s not there!

We need a new keeper too ie another Palmer as clearly Griffiths not in the same class.

I do worry about a new coach not having the final say on incomings and outgoings. The loans this year have not been impressive and Holgate for one being poor - a blind man with a white stick must have given contracts to Cole and Frabotta. To have a clause in Bartieys contract to allow another year was sheer stupidity!

I do worry the whole picture needs sorting and not just the coach. Even Morrison hugely disappointed me by giving Grady minutes v Luton when clearly he?s been poor and was off. I question whether the coaching staff are too close to certain players. Whitwell was great but there are more talented youngsters so they need chances especially in no nothing games!

I get your point Al, but the new regime seem to be targeting different sorts of players and Price is an absolute Rolls Royce in the making. I think most clubs take a gamble from time to time and Frabrotta for example was on a free, so a cheap gamble. It didn't work out, so what? We didn't lose a lot. Overall the club have done really well.

I'd say the new gaffer can't have the final say, but should be part of the decision, it's a team based approach.

In terms of the goalie, I think we'll be looking at Griffiths very differently at the end of the season.

Does it matter that much who is appointed (apart from a Pardew or Bruce type character)? It would seem to me to be more important if it were a manager that we were appointing rather than a coach, the director of football, or whatever he or a panel is called, do the recruitment of players and decide who to dispose of, hence the catastrophe of selling Palmer; whoever sanctioned that needs a brain transplant.

The waiting is killing us and our position in the table this season has diminished hopes for next season.
I want to remain optimistic, but the club is silent on a few fronts, i.e. manager and match day ticket prices which must effect season ticket sales.

Tottenham first-team coach Ryan Mason is poised to hold talks with West Bromwich Albion as the Championship club ramp up their search for a new manager.
Mason is the No. 1 target to take over at The Hawthorns and is set to be offered the job following Tottenham?s final Premier League match against Brighton on Sunday.
Albion sacked Tony Mowbray last month after a torrid run of results and want their new head coach installed well before the start of pre-season.


Interviews with a number of candidates have been held, but Mason is their preferred choice and an official approach to Tottenham is expected in the next 48 hours.
Mason, 33, is a former Tottenham player and on the first-team backroom staff of Ange Postecoglou, who secured the club?s first trophy in 17 years by winning the Europa League final against Manchester United last Wednesday.
After retiring in 2018 following a serious head injury, Mason joined the Tottenham coaching staff and has worked under a number of managers including Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte and Postecoglou.


Mason secured his Uefa Pro-license two years ago and has been in contention for managerial posts including Anderlecht and Swansea City.
West Brom are now intensifying their recruitment process, led by sporting director Andrew Nestor, and Mason is regarded as a serious candidate.


Albion are looking for their third head coach since the takeover by Florida-based businessman Shilen Patel in February 2024, after Carlos Corberan and Mowbray.

Uninspiring maybe, but if it is Mason we should get behind him and give him a chance, he?s going to have to be a strong character to deal with the clique that have undermined the last few Albion coaches

33 years old is young enough to even put his boots back on. If we can get a youthful manager then it might bode well for our recruitment going forward. I'd be happy with him. If he can lay down his marker early on without interference from others all the better.
