"Health bosses said they were seriously concerned, adding the NHS was facing a "very difficult winter".
When was the last time the NHS didn't face a difficult winter ? A bed shortage, patients on trolleys in corridors, ambulances queueing up, waiting rooms overflowing, just another autumn day at the NHS office.
Have a look at the Guardian, December 4th 2000.

"Tony Blair, has joined health experts in predicting that the health service faces a "tough" winter. Many fear it will be unable to cope with the expected level of illness."
And it was nothing new, it was the same the year before, 1999.
"Last winter's bout brought the NHS to a near standstill - and last January, there were reports of less than 30 emergency beds across the country."
But please don't tell anyone, they think we might not have noticed that this is an annual event, some of them want you to believe that this wouldn't be happening, if only Boris had locked us down for two weeks in September. They really do think that we are complete and utter imbeciles, and when I look around at people walking and cycling in fresh air, or driving their cars, with muzzles on, I think they may be right.
