re: So What Do You Think Of Mac Now?
you really have to let this go ratts because your obsessing over it and making yourself and the board look silly. perhaps you should talk to the other mods and ask their views about all this and then think what's best for the board. a true and fair open debate or your obsession about calling everyone a fool who questions you and repeating comedy gold. the guys on here deserve respect and more from a mod. please try before we contact footy mad board and let them sort it. ?

[quote="Rattea"]Honestly Rattee, I've read your opinions for months and they really stretch the idea that you understand football beyond credibility.
Patently, Maclaren was a better coach, and manager than Nigel.
For most of the time, he presided over an outstandingly attractive football team, that rose from awful mid table mediocrity to being the best team in the division.
Nationally, we got noticed.
Bryson under Maclaren was a revelation when he took over.
Thorne was a master stroke.
You may have noticed how the decline in attendances was reversed dramatically.
Yes it went wrong at the end. Derby failed to meet the raised expectations, that were so much higher than under Nigel in such a short time.
Without any shadow of a doubt, injuries were the main reason. We lost the spine of the team.
But overall, players under Maclaren were way better.
He wasn't even here for
re: So What Do You Think Of Mac Now?
Hang on these are not my figures they are seales he's been pumping these out for a few weeks. Well to be honest they are the BBC's!!!!
I've merely visualised them that's all. It shows what Swale has been posting not me.
And regardless of Burnley those are the figures and points. Up until 17 games last season our points were better than anyone's. Like for like the first season mcclarens didn't actual do much better, and in some cases far worse, than clough. Had mcclaren improved the side to pick up points against the top nine sides except a few wins then we wouldn't have lost in The playoffs.
End of the day it's over the season and the figures put forward BY SWALE NOT ME actually show what I said in October last year that we hadn't improved.
Obviously you are right and I and swales figures are wrong that's why he's still our manager ... Oh hang on XD XD XD XD XD XD
re: So What Do You Think Of Mac Now?
Rattea, your reply simply shows even more clearly how thick you are.
The points on the graph are whole season totals and the line doesn't show anything about midseason positions and yet your act of trying to place an arrow where MacClaren started shows you don't get this !!
Quite funny really ... next try please!
re: So What Do You Think Of Mac Now?
Getting back to the topic. I was a fan of Mac but he has now shown a different side of his personality. He said he didn't have any contact with Newcastle when asked earlier this year. He now says he turned them down in January. Lies?? He also now says that Newcastle was the job he always wanted! What a turncoat. No wonder the player and Board turned against him and the team did a belly flop. Good ridance. No doubt he will end up a very rich man but with no respect.
re: So What Do You Think Of Mac Now?
Rattea what a pathetic post, carry on in living in you little dreamworld, WUM. I thought old topics were banned and yet you have been spouting the same rubbish for over 18 months, grow up
re: So What Do You Think Of Mac Now?
I think Steve loves whoever employs him.
IMO he's looked after No1 (how many wouldn't?) he could have joined Newcastle in January...but he turned them down ( hardly hard decision IMO)...we were top and they were floundering.
What cut me the most was "I have 12 months left"...so, give me more or I'll be tapped up again (because I'm that good)
When he left Boro he admitted in hindsight that he was arrogant and that he learnt his lesson from that...he learnt nothing aside from how to not so cleverly pull the wool over people's eyes. The last few months left a bitter taste in my mouth (a bit like Billy after the play off win). My view when we capitulated was that he had to go and that was without the fervour around Newcastle. When the going got tough he couldn't handle it.
He took Clough's good work and improved Derby, but this was largely down to the players drafted in on loan...Thorne, Wisdom, Bamford and Dawkins (at times)...Steve could attract a good loan more so than Clough. The

I'm thick am I ... I better go tell them that at work hey they will be most disappointed ... snigger ;)
Very good they are year totals for a season at least you've got that far and which is about as good as you can get. you may notice, or have to be show, the line across the bottom is time. There for against season trending its approximately right. Opppps! Clearly you missed that class among many others!
And another final reminder these ARE SWALES (BBC's actually) NUMBER to prove improvement. And hes was stating they showed how the CLUB SEASON AGAINST SEASON had improved. all I have done is plat them.
So if y

There are times when it becomes clear that it is pointless to try and discuss, debate or argue with someone who believes themselves to be a Legend in their own Teatime.
The consistent refusal to accept facts, opinions, perceptions, and possibly reality means that any conversation with Rattee is a pointless diversion.
It's second rate thinking from someone who believes themselves first rate.
To most on this site, it's embarrassing to read his constant snide digs at others.
To be that arrogant, you have to be good.
He isn't.
