Have any of our players looked great consistently though in the system we play ?! Unfair to single out Sow who hasn't had a run of games yet.

Failing to qualify past the first round of the Scottish League Cup is not acceptable - there are 3 part time teams from the lowest league in this group and United still can't secure a second place finish ( even if they did, it would probably be outside the top 4 best 2nd placed teams in each league ).
Any team hoping to win the league this season can't really afford to lose more than around 6-7 games and will need to keep draws to a minimum.
It will be a tight league this season - but if United can't beat East Fife at home in a cup match knowing they would qualify for the next round, it could be a warning sign of things to come.
we are always gonna suffer when we can't pass to our own players. We give away possession cheaply and every attack which breaks down (which is most) ends up with as getting over run in midfield. We need a winger that can put in decent crosses and someone who can just simply pass the ball in midfield without the need to slow down play and turn in a circle before trying to pass the ball..nothing fancy! Continue to be unable to play in our forwards and you will soon see them becoming disinterested and giving up. We are guilty of over playing things and trying to be too cute with the ball. The frustration that bad passing causes the fans and the players has a detrimental effect on the entire team, causing the groans to become louder from the stands and the arse falling outta our weak minded players.
Not quite at meltdown yet, as I said before, the league is all that matters this year but last night's result MUST serve as a warning to everyone at the club that we are far from being guaranteed to be winning/challenging every game!
And PLEASE can we stop our players making Billy big baws statements in the papers...We ain't good enough to make any bold statements and need to learn to do our talking on the pitch first!
Also, in today's local press players are saying they will need to raise their game and take this as a warning.
Problem is, how many warnings do they need ?
Surely last season was the biggest warning and wake up call ?
Just how many warnings do the players and management need ?
I thought our passing was pretty good, until the ball came to one of three players. Stanton, Clark, or McMullan. Then they gave it away/blootered it out (McMullan).
For me, Harkes for Stanton, CSmith for Clark (in that role) and hope McMullan comes good (but I'd rather play a young lad then suffer that too often).
I've not seen many of the preseason/betfred games so far but has there been any experimentation with formations, tactics or any signs of something different being tried or just same old same old.?
Were you at the Stenhousemuir game? Between the 2 games, Harkes and Stanton were no different. And its easy to loose a ball against what i saw last night in a well organized team, who knew exactly where to be to break up the play. They stuck to that to a man and got the rewards for that. Robertson and Crawford must be rubbing their hands with glee if they had people watching us last night!
My 6 year old nephew's first game last night.
Hope he is ok at school today.
