In two minds about Maddison…

Experience in the Prem… I worry bringing in too many starting 11 players in one window with no Prem experience (like Chelsea did) would hurt the team.

Scored 9 goals and had 11 assists in a team that went down… he’s at the point where he is hitting his prime… and I think we need a few players in that category to help balance a team with a lot of youth in.

Never seen him put the kind of effort in that Howe asks of his players - not seen him that much mind, but never watched him and thought he’s really put a shift in.

His wage demands could be silly, given this is the last real chance he has of a big move while in his prime.

Rumours are his missus is the one who wants to go to London, so he’s gonna have to work that out if true.

I think he improves the starting 11, and if I am honest I’d consider playing him instead of Miggy/Murphy… and I’d be selling Miggy if I could… and that would mean we could still bring in another midfielder still.

Yes, I know Miggy signed a new contract not that long ago… but I bet that was kicked off on the back of his form at the start of the season and not his form after the World Cup.

Here's an idea. How about we don't sign James Maddison?

Agree with the above 3 comments. Very high maintainance this whole drama.

....I mean hes good, but not yet Del Piero or Baggio good to merit the saga.

Apprently agreed personal terms with Spuds but no official offer in for him - £175K a week.

He'd improve us but I'm not sure he has what Howe wants attitude wise - it's beginning to feel like he's our 2nd choice to Hungarian bloke.

I agree he'd improve the team but only if played centrally in a more attacking position.

As far as I can make out , Tonali and Bruno could swap roles quite fluidly, leaving Joelinton/Willock/Longstaff to be the muscle so I'm not sure where he'd fit in?

If Tonali comes in, I think we need to be looking at replacing Miggy/Murphy.

|'m sure there must be several available, without being the high profile , or as expensive as Maddison who would fit the bill.

Up to now our expert selectors haven't let us down and have unearthed some fantastic talent.

Let them go forth and bring in a better body than Maddison, at a lesser cost and not so much fuss.

If he is influenced by his Mrs wanting the bright lights of Larndaan then let them go to Spuds for silly accas and then they have all next season onward, to rue the decision not to come here when we are playing Champions League and sitting well above Spuds in the Prem again.

Szoboszlai is a much better option better player top international footballer and big european experience i know who id choose out of the two.
