Romared Match Thoughts Barnsley v Shrewsbury Town

I am critical of Neerav and the club for appointing Sormaz.
And have repeatedly said so.
No one holds the directors feet to the fire more than I do.
And if you could be bothered to attend a Supporters Trust Meeting you would realise that.

However - you are expressing the views of most (everyone?) on this message board.
You are following their lead.

What the crowd hates most is the one who thinks differently - its is not so much the opinion itself, but the audacity of having a different opinion.

Just watched the highlights - that?s if you can describe them as a highlight.
And also listened to Hourihanes post match interviews.
Something is kicking off behind the scenes IMO.

Their 1st goal.
Great cross field pass.
But as their payer ran towards the Barnsley area would Earl have been easily levered off the ball like that during the first part of the season ?
I don?t think so.
And as the ball is knocked into the middle their striker taps it in.
Bland can be seen jogging back into the penalty area behind him.

Their 2nd goal.
Shrews midfielder has time and space to put a pass through and the Barnsley defenders just stand there and watch it happen.
Their player gets to the byline crosses it in for another tap in.

This lethargic reaction of players that we have seen in most games since Hourihane took over is baffling.
And Hourihanes comments after the game leads me to believe something is wrong behind the scenes - either:
Hourihane has lost the dressing room before he?s even had chance to get things going.
Or there are bad apples within the dressing room that Hourihane hasn?t been able to sort out yet.

So come on answer Animals simple question , which players out of todays current squad would have got into either of those promotion teams ? Although it is asking a lot of you when your judgement of Mick McCarthy was to say he would not be strong enough for todays game , it sort of clouds your expertise as a football pundit but I do await your answer with anticipation .

He won't answer Shads. His opinions are never backed up with anything of substance or indeed any thought. Perhaps he'd gain some respect if his opinions were backed up but they never are and never will be.

This is not about his opinions being different, not at all. Good debate is very welcome. However, good debate consists of strong views coupled with considered thought. Otherwise there's no debate at all is there, hence why Animals simple question will never be answered.

This kind of thing has happened to us all with this guy on here these last few years. Unanswered questions equals no debate and he's perpetually ignored the person who challenges his views or asks for an answer to a simple question on a topic. The guy is totally out of his depth in an adult conversation/debate in my opinion.

As Animal says, he doesn't belong on message boards.

All true I am afraid Pass, I believe that with good debate you have to give and take plus sometimes you are proven wrong with your point of view then you have to have the grace to concede , I have engaged YN on numerous occasions as he himself advocated debate but unfortunately debate with him is indeed proving to be pointless and considering he champions debate and then avoids it if someone has the edge over him during discussion , its a pity because he does generate topics but he flat refuses to discuss or answer any questions where he might be proven wrong . I have said on more than one occasion that I have given up but keep offering him a lifeline but I am afraid unless he actually wants to debate as opposed to just inflicting his own personal views above all others then it really is pointless , shame !!!

It?s a question that can not be answered as we haven?t seen them play under a good HC.
And it?s the same debate I had with you all last season when Collins was here.
We cannot judge players until we see them play in a proper team.

But what we can say is that the same process identified the current squad as most of those in the Stendel team.
So on that basis - the players we see now are as good as those we saw then.

And if you factor in what some supporters are currently moaning about - that the owners need to put millions in because we only sign players that are cheap from lower league - then on that basis the players we have now must be better than what they were during the Hecky and Stendel days.
In saying that - I?m a believer (as you are) that it doesn?t matter where the players are signed from.

I?d go as far as this - add Morris, Dyke and Helik to this current squad and with Ismael in charge who knows where we would finish in the Championship - never mind the 1st Division.

As for Mick McCarthy.
He was a great player for Barnsley.
But put Mick in a Time Machine in the 1970s and bring him to 2025 and what you have is a smallish (6?1??) centre back that?s skinny compared to how players are built now.
And he wasn?t the fastest back then - so he?d be classed as slow now.
He wouldn?t get near this current first team.

Key difference is that the Stendel team were signed for actual transfer fees and from a higher level than where we are currently recruiting from. We're now looking for free transfers from a level below than we did in 2018. That is a fact and we reaped some rewards in financial terms by selling those 2018 players on.

DKD is proof of what you can get recruiting from a higher level if you're willing to spend a modest amount of cash and definitely not the millions that YN incorrectly surmises the fans are expecting. Unfortunately, DKD is only one success out of the last 2 seasons transfer dealings because of the reasons I've outlined in this post but let's ignore the facts shall we. It's the YN show.

Your infatuation with me continues.
Not once in this debate have I mentioned anything relating to myself.
But you again try to twist it to insinuate that I do.

Let the people at Footy Mad judge whether I?m breaking any rules.
If I?m not - then the obsession you have with me shows you are not suitable to be part of the Admin team.
