Romared Match Thoughts Barnsley v Shrewsbury Town

26th April , final home game of the season .

The contrast couldn't be more damming .

Is it really 28 years ago ?

" Marcelle , goes for the glory and gets it "

    John Helm 26-04-97 , 4.46 PM .

Nowt really needs to be said about the final games.
    It?s all been said before.
Thank goodness we coming to the end of another dismal season.

Next talking point will be the retained list.

Five of us were sat outside a bar in Fuengirola watching the match updates come in and sky went over the Oakwell to witness the final whistle.

I can honestly say the next day was my worst hangover ever ! ?Cheer up Mark McGhee?

We moved on and now in the spreadsheet we trust eh !!

Danny and big Eric new their football.

Another season under the belt and I welcome the break for a few months , I have always been up to the neck in cricket , played until I was well in to my fifties and enjoy watching local cricket at any level so a change of sports is something I enjoy but come August I will be looking forward to joining my grandsons as we once again take our seats in the west stand , I will not say what my thoughts on the new season will be until I assess the summers transfer activity but back to today , I hope we come out and show some more progress and continue with some signs of improvement , personally I would like to see any loan players left out or benched and if Dyer for example or any other youngster can get a chance for some involvement to give them a little experience then that would be great, the Shrews are down so we cannot effect other sides if we play with an inexperienced eleven and it also gives Conner a further look at players before the summer cull , I hope it is entertaining and that will suit me .

I think most of the fans such as yourself and Jules who attend games are ready for the season to end , I detect most are still attending through duty rather than entertainment .

Huge summer for the club and they cannot get this wrong , another January debacle and we could be relegated .

Whilst ever these amatures are running our club we will continue in decline, you are right relegation is a real prospect , I already feel sorry for Conor because they will deflect the blame on to him and the usual suspects will swallow it hook line and sinker .
