Not good enough. They were technically better than us.
That?s the end of this team, and I?m not convinced our new one is going to be better next season, probably be worse.
Not necessarily. It depends on what Eddie, if he is still here, can do re his training, tactics, selection and strategy. He needs a rethink as his current system is just not working. I can see Wissa and Wolt wanting a move away, he has not done any favours to Wolt's game, in fact the lad has regressed. Such a shame has he has a lot of talent.
Honestly, the way that second half went, barring Hall-who was poor-there's not a player on that pitch i'd be sad to see go in the Summer. Not one.
I'm still not Eddie out but, if he decided that was the end of his time here, I'd not be as gutted as I may have been a while ago. Absolutely nobody come out of this well today and that includes Eddie.
At times-and by times I mean 'a lot of this game'. we looked like a Bruce or McClaren team, we were that poor.
Terrible passing, terrible decision-making, terrible tactics and inability to change to deal with the makems' system and tactics.
I?m expecting Tonali and Livramento to go 99% on that, Bruno?s agent is obviously trying to get a move for him. Is Bruno really going to turn down 300k a week and a step up? He could be a World Cup winner in a few months, I don?t think so. Gordon would go on a drop of a hat, I?m not convinced someone are willing to pay for him though. Trippier and Burn are old now is Schar even coming back? The rest of them aren?t even worth mentioning.
I think Howe stays there?s not enough backing for bigger manager. He stays and builds a new team imho
Its not often I feel were going to lose a game when were winning at home.
Being outplayed by the mackems at home carries weight - we should be despatching them with relative ease at St James.
We sorely missed having a Tonali or Bruno in midfield. If Willock isnt belting forward then he is poor. Edfie needs to have a big rethink ahead of next season because we have and continue to go backwards.
One or two team ready centre forwards are essential - we could sell Wolt (and Wissa if anyone would have him). I love big Nick but his style doesnt suit. Might be better for him and us to move on.
Spurs 0-1 Forest - anything to make me feel better gratefully received.
For me, this is a full-blown crisis now.
The team is just not improving. There are flashes of what we could be - some of the play in the CL has been excellent.
But in the Prem we so often seem disjointed. Not just lacking proper bite up front. Too often we seem to lack motivation, to be clueless about tactics - passing the balll sideways then eventually backwards. I'm no longer pinning this on a few players "Oh, we'd be fine with a proper striker and a better goalie".
I feel its gone beyond that. And I don't know why. This isn't a sh!te team. It's a decent team that's playing sh!te. I think we are in trouble - and the spotlight has to be on Eddie. I love the guy, and what he has brought to the side. But what's happening now isn't good enough, and I think he's got big problems.
good game -bad game - good game - bad game ( irrespective of result ) forget high expectations for next season - consolidate
I think the Eddie Out brigade will get traction from this display today, he'll be here till the summer but I wouldn't be surprised if the owners have feelers out for his replacement, but then again we'll maybe win all our remaining games and get into the CL, who knows we always do things the hard way. :?
Jeez, I so hope that does happen.
But at the moment I don't expect it at all. I know - post-match blues and all that....
But I' see to have been waiting for ages now for the team to "turn a corner" - for it all to come together. I now don't think it's going to happen. As ronandat says "ggod gamme, bad game ,good game, bad game" with no obvious reason, pattern or general uptick.
I really do see a lot of players leaving in the summer and the owners looking at the manager.
To me, one bizarre aspect is the CL. Our standard of play there has generally been very good. And, if players need the lure of CL football to stay with the Toon project - well it was in their own hands. Too often they have been lacklustre. More drive, enthusiasm (and dare I say it "intensity" and this side would definitley be looknig at a CL place next season I reckon.
