Instead the ball flew straight into my nether regions which resulted in a high pitched scream followed by a slump to the ground with my hands immediately clutching my groin area (presumably to see if anything remained!). I was immediately surrounded by my team mates not, I may add, in sympathy for my discomfort by rather to congratulate me on a brilliant catch! What I was clutching was the offending ball not the source of my excruciating pain lol.
Still makes me wince to think about it.
