As regards medal tables, I assign 3 points for gold. 2 for silver and 1 for bronze. That way we derive

    1 USA
    2 China
    3 France
    4 UK
    5 Australia
    6 Japan

Next let's knock off 10 points for home advantage for France, moves UK up to third.

Then let's express the top 3 in terms of points per capita of population, and "we win"!!

The only thing I can think of is that her hurdle final was her 6th race inside a few days. Her opponents were having their third. Having said that McLaughlin ran an exceptional race and broke the world record.

So its that time of year when we have to find something non Ram-related to satisfy us sport-wise. Anyone got anything interesting lined up? I'm struggling to think of anything a tedious as Mrs F's choice today of the live Lions squad reveal, but I'll try, I guess NASCAR coming closest.

    Anyone? The upcoming test maybe?

The Lions in Australia (huge), Rugby League Season including the Challenge Cup Final, West Indies and India Cricket tours of England, my grandkids playing cricket or, for the next three weeks, granddaughter playing softball and keeping up with DCFC hopefully creating a competitive squad. That’ll do me…no problem and a little less stressful.

P.S….and not forgetting an occasional dip into the Tour de France.

Will semi follow the cricket and baseball, there's the open in July, and a bit of boxing, but otherwise happy to not be stressed or depressed over sport for a couple of months.

Half an eye on the SBC and L1 playoff results to see who we get to play next season, F1, Wimbledon, TdF, cricket, Henley, DCFC released/retained list which has to be with the EFL by May 17th so I suspect it will be published next Friday, DCFC players in/out as I suspect that some of those with contracts to next summer may well be sold/loaned out with Ossie and Jacko, IMO, the 2 favourites with Rooney and Daj possibly in the window as well.

I forgot to bore you with mine: On TV/Radio: F1, Indycar, NASCAR, Formula E, BTCC, Road cycling, cricket (usually on randomly here rather than music radio), athletics, kabbade (seriously, I love it), anything else that helps avoid boredom. Watching live: Cricket (all levels), Greek fotball (next week), Palma half marathon (daughter competing), Birmingham Hyrox (daughter also competing), Pig Racing at Waterhouses if its confirmed, probably a highland games in late August after our AC/DC jaunt. Competing: Posssibly a sprint at Curborough

With regard to the sound of willow on leather, I shall, at some point, pay a visit to my old club over here for an afternoon of fun and beer. Renew some old acquaintances and reminisce about the man who's faster than his shadow. Playing a midweek game against a touring side from England, I was stood at extremely silly midoff, a handful of yards from the bat, ball came down, shot was played and I caught the ball, two handed, about a foot above my head. It hurt like hell but the batsman didn't get to see that, just the smile on my face. These days it would be halfway to the boundary before I even moved but it was a magnificent reflex catch.
