It's always the position, but the numbers shoot up even higher at Christmas and during major football tournaments, presumably as the consumption of alcohol works its magic.
Even a current Reform MP (James McMurdock) has served a prison sentence for beating up a girlfriend, but that's okay because Nigel says so.
I may be wrong and am open to correction, but I don't recall anyone starting threads about that reality for women and girls in this country.
So, can someone please explain what the fascination with the ethnicity of offenders is all about? It doesn't just extend to violence against women. When someone drove his car into a load of football supporters, the thread that was started on here quickly fizzled out when it turned out that the driver was white, British and a former Royal Marine. Is anyone willing to pretend that thread wouldn't have run into hundreds of posts if it turned out to be someone with a foreign sounding name?
Is it that the posters who join in the feeding frenzy following cases that like that in Leamington think it is somehow worse for a women or child to be abused by someone who isn't British? You would struggle to sell that to a victim.
Is it that some people think that if 'our' women are going to be abused it is going to be 'us' that does it? I would have been hesitant to make such a seemingly outrageous suggestion, but for the fascinating statistics that showed how many of the men involved in the post-Southport riots had a history of being arrested for domestic abuse.
If the argument is that non-British men are more likely to commit offences against women and girls then I'd like to see the data that supports that (reliable and age adjusted figures, not some random Tweet from a hate merchant).
